October 9th - Operation Takedown
« on: October 01, 2005, 12:25:44 PM »
Scenario: A team of FBI agents has cornered a sleeper cell in Southern Arizona, in a sleepy town called Marana. Elimination of the cell is top priority.

Teams:
FBI (2 positions open)
Uniform: Suit, white shirt, black tie.

Reaver
Bullseye
Ogre
Warlock
Bomb Squad
Satan

Al Qurda of Baghdad, AZ (1 positions open)
Uniform: Anything other than a suit and tie.

Bucket
Poopboy
Chainsaw
Elvis
Pryde+1
Preacherman
Bishop+1
Patty O'Brian
Vietnam+1
Crow+2
War savage
Rook

ATTENTION: This game follows all TAC rules, and is considered a CQB engagement. 350fps, full-auto, full face-mask required for all attendees. All TAC rules/restrictions/guidelines apply, unless stated otherwise.

To compensate for this rule, the battles will be quick engagements, 15-30 mins each with a 5-minute breather period in-between.

We will also have other scenarios playing out, I'll make it fun for everyone. During the upcoming week, I'll be posting different scenarios from my playbook that we will see about fitting in.

I am hoping for maximum possible attendance. If we get more than 20 people, we can adjust teams as necessary, do delay-spawns etc. as the field is only 80'x60' and there are obstacles. Everyone will play, everyone will have fun.

LOCATION: Come join us at our newest AO! Located on the premises of the Sudden Impact paintball field in Marana, AZ we have arranged for our very own airsoft CQB environment. Come out and enjoy fun airsoft games, grab refreshments (reasonably priced!) at the drink stand (or bring your own non-alco-beverages). Spectators and cameramen alike are welcome.

FEES: $15 per person, will include a coupon for 5000 .2g BBs from Paintball Headquarters.

Alright, is this full facemask thing like, totally, definitely, 100% required? Any reconsideration on this?

I'm definitely down to go, but not if I have to wear full face. I don't have one, and it would negate the use of a lot of my gear. So, that being said, if like, there's a waiver I can sign or something, I'll sign it. I'm not worried about getting hurt, I just don't find them comfortable.

well, Vince, its a TAC game, and TAC has a full facemask requirement for all CQB.

Doth that answer thy question?

age limit?

14+

In typical TAC rules:

14-16years old: full facemask
16-18years old: partial facemask

However since this is a CQB-only game, the rules are all ages, all players must wear full facemasks.

I agree on the uncomfortable part, heck I voted for 400fps, no facemask requirements in CQB. It appears as though I was outvoted on that issue. The AO we are using has been cultivated by myself as a TAC representative for the purposes of those negotiations, so it would be highly unfair for me to sway from TAC rules when doing an op at a TAC AO.

Besides, this AO promises real, true heavy CQB battles and a couple of my scenarios I'll be doing will provoke some feisty engagements. Even if a facemask were NOT required, I'd still be wearing one.

Sudden Impact does not, of themselves, require facemasks, merely ballistic-rated goggles, ANSI Z87.1 or better. However, this being our first game on the premises I am following TAC guidelines to a T so we can have a good clean fun injury-free first game, and show the paintball community how we do things.

Even though *I'm* going to have a full mask...

I believe that if you went with a balaclava/Shemagh over the exposed face, that may suffice.

On this, however I'll need to defer to Bucket for his ruling....

For 18year-olds and above, I think that's pretty much in line with the intent of the rule.

Like Bullseye, however I must defer to Bucket for his ruling.

Well, if I can wear a recon wrap or something along those lines, I would be happy to attend.

Head east on I-10, towards Tucson. Marana is the town right before Tucson. Tangerine Road is one of the available exits, Sudden Impact Paintball Field is on Tangerine.

I believe a partial face mask is one that just covers getting hit from the front, , while the full wraps around and also protects most of the cheek area and ears/temple   IE: most current usage paintball masks as opposed to the older styled ones.

But I could be wrong =P

BTW, where in heck did you get that Jihad Joe screenie?  I nearly died laughing when I 1st saw it,

I will agree that a "THICK" type of face wrapping is fine, (i.e. a padded balaclave or a shemagh(?) wrapped about the face)

As for the partial mask .... if you take a paintball mask and cut the lower covering at the center of the eyes on each side and then remove those sections over th cheek that is acceptable as partial face cover.

This covers the nose and the mouth but leaves the cheeks open for availablility of sight usage with the weapon.
