New Alumagrips
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:20:03 PM »
Got a pair of ultra-thin Alumagrips for my 1911 today, makes for a perfect grip.

Thinking the next improvement will be stippling on the front strap. Between the two you could probably oil the grip and still get a solid hold.

Any other 1911 fans on the board?

Absolutely love 'em!  Had a Springfield Mil-Spec 1911, Firestorm 1911 Gov't (blah), and currently a Para P14.45 LDA.

I don't own a 1911, but if I did, it would have Alumagrips or Simonich Gunners (simply to support Montanan economy). I was messing with the Alumagrip equipped 1911s they had at the SAR Show. Very, very nice.

Gunners are very nice too, but I was in the market for some ultra thins, which I dont think they make.  10 seconds of my buddy's alumagrip-ed 1911 in my hands had me sold.

I really like my ERGO XTR Grips. They are a lot cheaper than gunners or alumagrips and work great.

I can back up the Ergo XTR grips, I've used them a few times on firing other 1911's. I really like them, I like all Ergo grips (like the AR grips). I can't say much about alumagrips except for a "They look like" comment, which is "They look like they don't come to par with what I'd like".

Also, ERGO, you can get from Wilderness Tac, like Gregs link said. They've got a store on Hatcher I frequently go to, to buy more and more surefire batteries, shirts and etc.
