Troubleshooting / Large Type Butterfly Battery into Crane Stock
« on: May 06, 2010, 05:53:03 PM »
I recently bought the Intellect 3600 mAh 9.6V Butterfly for my rifle:

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=29557

However, this battery is slightly larger than my current one, and won't fit into the crane stock :(
... Well... it fits, but it's very very tight, and the battery is longer than the stock itself.

So I was wondering if someone knew of a crane stock that could hold this battery, because I'd love to use it.

General Airsoft Discussion / Pistol Suppressor
« on: May 03, 2010, 10:30:53 PM »
I'm looking around evike and other websites, and all I find are mock suppressors for rifles (that is, silencers with a diameter of 30mm or bigger).

Can somebody link me a short (~110mm long) small (<25mm diameter) pistol silencer?

or can 30mm silencers look good on pistols?  I have one, and when I line it up with my lil' G18c, it just looks off.

Troubleshooting / Cyma G18c (CM030)
« on: April 21, 2010, 08:58:46 PM »
So, I have a CM030.  I took it to a game last Saturday and tagged a guy with it, which made really happy.  I needed to recharge the battery on it that night, so I did not want to charge a half-discharged battery.  Went home, emptied a few clips and ran out of BBs.  I decided to go ahead and put the gun on fully auto and shoot it with the barrel muffled on a pillow to keep the air inside.  Halfway through, it started to make a (for lack of a better word) 'farting' sound.  It eventually stabilized and came through crisp and clear again.

Today, I loaded up my pistol to see if it was alright.
Now, it seems to skip every third or fourth BB.  It's not a big deal because it's a G18 with full auto capabilities, but:
Every third or fourth bb will not fire.  Instead, the next shot after that fires 2 bbs at once.  It then shoots fine for 2-3 shots, and then the same thing happens.  It does this in semi-auto and full-auto.

What is wrong and what can I do to fix it?
Please don't tell me to replace this gun.  I love this cheap little AEP.

EDIT 1: By the way, I just took some of it apart (as much as i needed to observe the spring), and the thing 'fires' just fine.  The hammer comes back and it makes that sharp cracking sound.

EDIT 2: I also observe that the first shot after the clip is inserted NEVER FIRES, but the second one ALWAYS fires.

General Airsoft Discussion / Eyes open or closed with reflex/holo.
« on: April 21, 2010, 11:13:12 AM »
Was just reading another post about 'tunnel vision' with a scope, which got me analyzing my own playstyle.

When I play in the field, I usually keep the gun at my hip and bring it up to shoot when I expect to shoot.  When I do so, I close my left eye (I'm right handed) and look through my Eotech with my right eye.  Of course, ever since I've gotten my holo sight, I noticed that I don't necessarily have to close my left eye, it's just a habit I have from looking through irons all day.  So I guess my question is:

For those of you with some sort of aiming attachment (scope, red dot reflex, acog, whatever), do you aim with one eye or two?  I know that keeping both eyes open allow you a wider field of vision, and you can aim just as easily, but how many actually do it?  I feel awkward keeping my left eye open when I raise my gun up.

AEG's / Upgrading my M4 for range
« on: April 18, 2010, 03:21:32 PM »
After much discussion, I've decided to upgrade my M4.

I currently own DBoys M4 CQB
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/d-boys-m4-cq ... 3981m.html

Are these installable on my gun?:

and will they help increase my range?  If these parts do not fit, could you show me a link of one that does?

Spring Power!! / Cheap Type96 too good to be true?
« on: April 18, 2010, 12:52:00 PM »
http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=28051

is this rifle too good to be true?  80 bucks is affordable to me in one paycheck.

I'm looking for a good spring powered sniper rifle that outreaches my M4 AEG.  What is a cheap rifle that you guys would suggest?

AEG's / Not really an AEG, but semi-auto electric pistol
« on: April 12, 2010, 02:36:58 PM »
I was browsing around today and I found this:

http://www.airsoftstation.com/desert-ea ... istol.html

If I wanted a gas-operated semi-auto, it would run me $50+
But this little electric is only ~20 with shipping.  Granted, it only shoots 180 FPS, but I like the way it looks (after I remove that ugly orange nose)

What are your guys' thoughts?  Would it even be worth getting?  Or should I just save up and get a gas operated one (or stick to a spring)?

Introduce Yourself! / Tucson College Student

I only recently got into this genre.  I've always liked FPS video games, and always liked guns.
Anywho, I was at a store with a friend of mine when I saw a Pumpmaster 760, BB repeating airgun.  I had so much fun plinking that most of my paychecks/student loans/scholarship started going towards the purchase of airguns.

Shortly after my Pumpmaster 760, I bought a PX4 Storm and a Desert Eagle and began tricking them out with attachments and such.  The problem was that with these pellet guns, I couldn't really shoot anything other than beer bottles and cans, so I decided to buy an airsoft gun.  I bought a full metal Dboy M4, and fell in love immediately.

Only found this forum through my research (wanted to know if it was legal to paint the tip of my M4 black), and saw that there are people who actually do MilSims with their guns.  I've been sold, so I'll see you around the forums.

General Airsoft Discussion / Arizona laws regarding orange tip
« on: April 12, 2010, 11:54:29 AM »
I've done a few searches and couldn't find anything on your boards/faqs, so I thought I'd post a new topic.

A few of my friends and I were just wanting to run around the streets / desert and play some CTF with one another, but most of our guns had the orange tip stripped/painted off.  I know that to legally sell the gun, the orange tip must be a certain length and/or the gun must be clear, but that law doesn't apply to actually USING the gun without the orange tip.

I know that if I end up pointing it at a cop, there's a good chance he's going to shoot me, but what exactly are AZ laws regarding this orange blaze tip?
Thanks,

Crono
