Any experience with Beta C-Mags?
« on: March 13, 2007, 04:15:24 PM »
I am pondering getting a Beta C-Mag for my AR just for giggles, but I have heard some people question the reliability of the C-Mags.  Does anybody here have a Beta C-Mag for their AR?  If so, what have you thought of it?

From a realistic standpoint, you'd be better served getting 25 30 round magazines for the same price.

From a fun point of view, I'll bet they're a blast.

From an investment standpoint, they may be a good thing.  I'm sure another high capacity magazine ban will come down the pipes at some point.

Although I have no specific examples, I've heard that they are unreliable and can have many more problems than other kinds of magazines.

Can you afford the $25 in ammo to load one up?

Where can you get 25 decent 30 round mags for $210?

Reliability was my main concern.  I have heard the same thing, but usually referring to being used in actual combat situations where dirt and stuff was getting into your gun.

Ammo cost really isn't much of a concern.  I already go through 2k rounds a month or more with my Glock.

I haven't shopped around for them, I thought they were closer to $250 each.  Either way, good 30 round magazines can be had for close to $10 a piece.

You can get AR Beta-C Mags for $199 + Shipping.  The cheapest I have seen decent 30 rounders for is $15.

Where are you getting Betas for $199?

As for 30 round mags, which you would be waaaaay better served with, here's a few links.  Get the 100 mag case and get it over with.

The above links were just an example of the many good prices out there.  Poke around, you'll find some smokin' deals.

And what would I do with 100 mags?  The 10 pack wouldn't be bad though, so thanks for the link.
