General Airsoft Game Discussion / Mission Idea. Suggestions anyone?
« on: September 25, 2010, 03:46:41 AM »
This is a mission Idea based off a book I have been pecking away at since I arrived in Iraq. In ways it is like Call of Duty, but since there are so many unrealistic events about that war (I.E. How in heavens name do you get across the pond with a sizable enough force?), I do not claim any parallels.
This is all planning since I’m not in AZ long enough (or know far enough in advance) to plan anything good. If someone wants to take this and run with it, by all means do so. Feel free to post up other ideas, or PM me for the full mission brief.

Operation Giant Fall

Back Story:
July 11th, 2020. NORAD picks up a sizeable formation of unknown aircraft passing over the Bering Sea. Orders are passed down to Fort Richardson, Alaska to intercept and investigate. Reports flood back of bombers attacking Richardson, than all commutation is lost with the post.
July 12th, 2020. NORAD picks up two missile launches from the location surrounding Richardson. They plot the courses, and predict L.A. and New York will be hit. Instead, the missiles detonate 300 miles above the earth, causing an electrical blackout throughout all of Canada, as well as the United States and Mexico.
July 15th, 2020. Russian forces start an invasion of the United States. They are met with massive resistance, from both the U.S. Army, as well as private citizens. The Russians attack with tanks, air assets, and infantry.
July 30th, 2020. Russian forces have secured an area that covers from Montana to the Texas/Mexico Border. NATO nations start sending troops to assist the weakened U.S. Military.
August 10th, 2020. The Russians have captured the western United States, although it has cost them dearly. Special Operation groups arrive on the Eastern Seaboard. The Navy’s 7th fleet stations itself 500 miles off the West Coast.
August 13th, 2020. Present Day. The U.S. Army, with the aid of Germany, United Kingdom, and France, start a massive counter attack along the northern part of the Russian attack. If the attack is successful, the combined forces will be able to hold back the Russians long enough to land more forces, and reclaim the United States. If they fail, America will fall.

Teams:
United States Army- UN Task Force Iron Horse
Role: Combined U.S. Military forces, leading the assault.
Uniforms (preferred): ACU, MARPAT, ABU, Tiger Stripe
Weapons (preferred): M16, M4, M249, M14

Armed Forces of the Russian Federation- 17th Motorized Rifle Troops Battalion
Role: Spearhead for the Russian forces.
Uniforms (preferred): Multicam, Flat Green, Flat Tan
Weapons (preferred): AK47, AK74, G3, RPK, SVD (Even a few captured American weapons if needed)

Minutemen- Iowa National Guard
Role: American Citizens who own firearms, and want to stop the Invasion. This is a much smaller force than the USA or AFRF.
Uniforms (preferred): 3 color desert, 5 color desert, Civilian Clothes
Weapons (preferred): Any

Quick Mission Brief
The objectives of each team will be close to the same. Depending on game location, games will include a form of capture the flags, Team Deathmatch, Search and destroy, and a few other ideas. I’m planning on having a Chain of command installed as well so it is easier to direct and control the men to complete the mission.

AEG's / FPS Rules, Upgrades needed, overall help
« on: September 04, 2010, 03:50:38 AM »
Howdy guys,

I am trying to build a M110 Marksman Rifle like found in the military. Now, since this is airsoft, and everything is 6mm, the base of this project will be a M16A4.

My questions are, how do you make a full auto rifle into a semi auto only weapon? Also, what are the FPS Limits for semi auto only? And what internals would I need to build a reliable high FPS weapon?

Thank you in advance

John

General Airsoft Discussion / m240B
« on: April 03, 2009, 06:48:28 PM »
Hey guys,

Does anyone know of an airsoft company that makes the M240B? Or is the SAW the best you'll get in terms of modern support weapons?

Reason I ask is I carry one in real life, and it'd be interresting to airsoft with one. Ain't used to the M4 anymore.

Thanks for any and all help gentlemen.

Time to clean out my closet so I can buy a new gun and gear. Prices do not include shipping or paypal. Shipping is based on your area code.

Payment options are:
Paypal (add 3% to total)
Money Order
Local pick-up

First up:

Backpack Style Camelbak. It has one of the Hunter Patterns, not military. Used once, didn't like it, so it sat on my shelf for a few months. I have washed the camelbak many times, so it should have any "supporter cooties" on it.
$10

Next up:

Canteen. Coyote Cover with OD bladder. I can split them up, but would rather sell them together. Used twice in games. Same as camelbak.
$15 sold together, or $10 each if split.

Next:

Unknown brand of Googles. I got them off a paintball mask about a year ago. Used for every game until about a month ago. The lens have a few scraches, but still usable.
$5

Also in that picture, a plastic set of M4 R.I.S. system. Good for starters who dont want to spend a lot on a R.I.S. system.
SPF

Next:

Infinity Tactical LBV. Coyote in color, used in many games and still operates great.
SPF

Next:

Unknown Brand Leg MOLLE holder. It has 4 rows of MOLLE, plus a pouch.
$10

Next:

AGM M14. There is so much wrong with this gun (no semi auto, etc), and I have no idea how to tear it apart that I'm just going to sell it as is. The Mag pictured is not included unless you want it.
SPF

Next:

5 Unknown brand M14 Midcap Mags. Not sure on the max amount for them, but I think its around 70 BBs. In the bottom left corner is an AGM M14 Hi-cap mag.
$8 each, or $6 for two or more.

Next:

1 OD and 1 CB Duel M14 MOLLE open pouches. Neither have seen the game field, only the backyard. Each holds two M14 Mags (not sure if they fit other mags, only used for M14).
$10 each

Finally:

Unknown brand of speed loader. Its the small one, holds appx. 120 BBs.
$2

General Airsoft Discussion / Legal question
« on: October 30, 2007, 08:18:45 PM »
Gentlemen,

I am thinking of trying to find an abandoned building somewhere in Arizona, and hosting a CQB event from that building. I know I would have to do a lot of work to make that building safe, away from the people, and all of that, but my main question (maybe you can help with this Doc) is what would I have to do to be able to use that building? What kind of permits/licenses/whatever else do I need to 'rent' the building?

Thanks in advance

View the pictures below and decide how you really feel about the future of the Western World.
These pictures are of Muslims marching through the streets of London during their recent "Religion of Peace Demonstration."

Why would anyone think that we should be at war with such nice, peaceful Muslems?!
Americans need to know!  These Pictures tell it all! Muslims have stated that England will be the first country they take over!
These are pictures not shown on American TV or in American Newspapers (as they might help Bush's war on terror), but were forwarded to me by a Canadian Friend who thought Americans ought to know.

I have more pictures on this, but I figured I already made a big enough post.

Thats my views on politics.

Interrested in World War Two but noone around you plays? Well, look no further! The 2. Fallschirmjäger Regiment is currently recruiting! Most of our games will be played near Flagstaff.

2. Fallschirmjäger Regiment Requirments:
PERSONAL APPEARANCE:  Before we discuss the uniform and equipment, we must first discuss your personal appearance.  You are expected to achieve and maintain a personal appearance that is consistent with the way a World War II German soldier would look.  First:  GET A HAIRCUT!!  Look at some photographs of German soldiers in WWII.  The hair was worn extremely short on the sides and at the back, and long on top.  It was normally worn combed straight back with the use of some grease, oil, or pomade.  If it was parted, the part was usually ver high on the head.  This is the goal.  We will accept more modern haircuts as long as they are short on the sides and the back.  The hair must not touch your ears or collar.  No unusual hair styles or unnatural colors are allowd.  No exceptions, no excuses.  Second:  Get rid of the piercings!  Absolutely no piercings allowed.  No exceptions, no excuses.  Period.  Third:  If you wear glasses, you must get some period style, non-tinted eyeglasses, or contact lenses.  No exceptions, no excuses.  Further information will be provided to you about period style food, dogtags, behavior, etc. that are required.  Now is also the time to try to get in shape and lose that beer gut.  We do not require that you meet height/weight standards, but again, do your research.  Not too many German combat soldiers carried the extra pounds that most modern Americans do.  We are portraying an infantry unit in active combat.  This is not for "couch potatos!"

UNIFORM:  All new members start as privates.  You will wear the uniform of a private, and be treated and
addressed as a private.  You will not wear any awards or decorations until you earn them (see regulations
concerning awards, decorations, and badges.)  You may be authorized certain awards based on prior reenacting experience or military service, but you must not wear any awards, badges etc. until this determination has been made.  The basic uniform consists of:

  1.  Cap - M-43 (Einheitsfeldmütze) with two buttons, or M-38 (Feldmütze) with white soutache.
  2.  Wool Tunic - Standard, field-grey, four-pocket wool tunic.  M-40, M-42, M-43, or M-36 style,  M-40 is
preferred.  Tunic should bear the following insignia:  Private's shoulder boards in field-grey with white (infantry) or light green (panzergrenadier) piping. Collar tabs (Litzen) Field-grey with white highlights (worn with infantry piped shoulder boards only) or Einheitslitzen with only dark green highlights which may be worn with any mpression.  The collar tabs should be sewn directly to the collar without any backing, except on the M-36 tunic, which requires dark-green backing to match the collar.  The national insignia (Hoheitsabzeichen) is the eagle and swastika emblem worn over the right breast pocket.  It should be white or light grey on a dark green background, and should be of the woven "Bevo" type.  The "subdued" type is worn on later models (M-43 or M-44) tunic only.  Embroidered versions of the national insignia are normally reserved for NCOs and officers only.
  3.  Wool trousers - Standard field-grey, wool trousers.  M-36, M-42 (Keilhose), or M-44 (Rundbundhose).  M-42 (Keilhosen) are preferred.
  4.  Footwear:  Lace-up ankle boots with gaiters (Gemaschen), or jack boots.
  5.  Belt and buckle - Standard black leather belt, with plain steel or silver painted Wehrmacht buckle.

FIELD GEAR:  The following field gear is the minimum necessary to participate:

  1.  Steel helmet (Stahlhelm):  The standard German steel helmet in M-35, M-40, or M-42 patterns.  No Spanish
helmets allowed.
  2.  Belt supporting straps (Koppeltraggestell) - Also called Y-straps - are the shoulder harness worn to support the weight of the belt and equipment.  You will need the infantry style that have the extra set of straps used to carry the A-frame assault harness.
  3.  Ammunition pouches (Patronentaschen):  Two original black leather, three-section ammunition pouches with a minimum of twelve stripper clips for the KAR-98K rifle.
  4.  Bayonet and frog (Seitengewehr mit Seitengewehrträger):  Original German K-98K bayonet and scabbard with wood or bakelite grips; and original or approved reproduction frog.  The earlier leather frog without strap is preferred, but the later "SS-style" M-42 frog with retaining strap is allowed, as is the webbing "tropical" style frog.
  5.  Breadbag (Brotbeutel):  Original or approved reproduction M-31 or 44 breadbag in green or greyish-green
canvas.
  6.  Canteen and cup (Feldflasche und Trinkbecher):  Original or approved reproduction or post-war canteen and cup.  "Continental" style canteen with wool cover and aluminum cup is preferred, but bakelite cup and/or
"tropical" canteen are allowed.  The aluminum cup should be painted black, field grey, or German olive green.

Other items of uniform and field gear (and there are many) are highly desirable, if not actually required, but the above listed items are the bare minimum needed to get you on the field.  If you have any questions, contact your squad leader, unit commander, or authenticity officer before you make any purchase.

2. Fallschirmjäger Weapon Requirments:
WWII period is wanted, but since they are expensive, we will settle for the following:
Any bolt action "sniper" rifle without the scope.
AK47 full stock (spin off of the MP-44)
M14 (spin off of the M1 Garand. Many German troops used to carry the M1.)

Or the following WWII weapons:
MP40
GEW 33/40

General Off-Topic Discussion / Immigration made easy
« on: May 15, 2007, 09:20:54 PM »
A  lady wrote the best Letter to the Editor in ages! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.

Her  point:

Recently  large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact  that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.

Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this  country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let  me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I  break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But  I say,"I've  made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the  floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm  hard-working and honest (except  for when I broke into your house).

According  to the protesters:
You are Required to let me stay in your house ... You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan ...You are Required to Educate my kids ... You are Required to  Provide additional benefits to me & to my family (my  husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and  honest, except for that breaking in part).

If  you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will  picket your house, carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.

It's  only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just  trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for ... well,  you know, I did break into your house.

And  what a deal it is for me !!!

I  live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold,  uncaring, selfish, prejudiced and bigoted behavior.

Oh  yeah ...

I  DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! so  you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is ?!

Only in America . . .

I've been reading about at the start of the Iraq war American troops had to buy their own body armor. Do they still do, and what else do they need to buy themselves?
