Got in my imported MFH "CombatVeste".  According to the company, this is a civilian version of a CIRAS vest used by the German military in some units.  I think its just a cool copy of the CIRAS in flecktarn, that was well priced (even with German shipping), and came with the things I wanted for use with my SCAR.  I have my full webbing rig for 100% milsim.  Aparently some German units do use CIRASs, from certain pictures, but I am quite sure they are the real deal, as they are NOT flecktarn.  But hey, this thing is cool looking, and it serves the purpose I want, so whatever.  Ugly ass shoulder-pads removed, although they are funny looking...

For some reason ImageShack refused to load the pictures of the back.  But I am sure many of you know what a CIRAS looks like.  There is a long radio pouch on the back, but the good stuff is on the front.  Oh and removed the SWAT patch that was way out of place...

That's kind of cool, actually.

The German MOLLE-type stuff I saw was a bit different with regard to PALS spacing/size, but it was the same principle.

I did see some French SOF types with OD MARCIRAS a few times, and the Dutch guys were rockin them in Khaki.

Cool stuff.

Thanks.  You may be thinking of the IdZ (Infanterist der Zunkunft) prototypes that the Budneswehr is considering to replace the older Webbing system of modular attachment.  It uses 1 cm (as opposed to 1 inch) webbing, both vertical AND horizontal (for stiffer weaving or horizontal placement of pouches).  Therefore MOLLE pouches don't work on an IdZ without making fingers bleed but IdZ pouches work fine on MOLLE vests.  

Mine is a copy of the CIRAS clearly, while the IdZ is a bit more unique, and is not really like a CIRAS.  I was thinking of going IdZ for a diverse gear set, but then I weighed the difficulty of aquirement of a real military versus the civilian version thats stuff pretty difficult to aqcuire in the States, along with the obscene price (350 dollars for just the IdZ vest, plus pouches puts it around a 600 dollar plus foreign shipping cost...).  

I kind of wanted a more American based piece of gear (Weesatch, EAGLE PC, etc etc) with MOLLE so I could sport a different gear set for my SCAR I just got.  I figured it would be nice and easy to use my German webbing for my G36, and then have a separate LBV for my SCAR, so in a game where I had the chance to utilize both, I could just change out the gear instead of having to deal with changing all the mags out and that fun stuff.  

This MFH CIRAS though was a good find, as I wouldn't have to compromise my love of Flecktarn and I could still pretend that I was MILSIMing KSK units which have been photographed with OD or CBish CIRASes.  Its build quality is pretty good, and the webbing is well spaced and stiched.  It will require being broken in as a whole, but that is standard with Cordura from experience.  

Oh, and if you ever want something like this and can't get it stateside, never buy from the UK, buying from Germany is cheaper, both on price for gear, and for shipping.  UK shipping is absurd.

hey thats pretty cool, i was thinking about getting IDZ, cause we use the old webbing still, and thought we could be hi speed while staying original with our German based group. which i think we are one of only a few, cause i know some try but its only like a flak jacket and a pouch...no webbing or anything. and some people just buy flecktarn and put on what ever kind of rig they like...maybe more hi speed but not staying with the look.  Anyway before i get really off track.  Where did you get the vest? i may look into something like that, because IDZ is really expensive.

just got the pouches. the vest is temporary, until i order the one i want. that one there is my issued one.


not done yet it needs the UN symbol to be finished, and i still have the touch ups to do.


just need my tan knee bads and my SCAR. the kevelar, gloves, and vest are all issued, i guess the cami's are in a sense.

Here is my(read: azsarge's) rig:



Eagle RRV
-2 Eagle SAW pouches: obviously, to carry my combat load. Two drums of 200 rounds each. I love these pouches, if I'm carrying an M4, I can just throw those in there, or two of the smaller 100 round nutsacks.

-1 Paraclete smoke pouch - carries my smoke. I kept it centerlined to keep it more protected from getting slammed into stuff. I also keep it there becuase thats where you have the most dexerity, so i can go straight into the pin pull, and throw.

-1 battlelab triple pistol mag pouch: if I happen to be rocking a pistol, I got 3 spare mags. Also, if someone else ends up needing them, I have spare.

-1 Battlelab small GP - carries my NODs. Nice and out of the way, but easy to get to if I need them during low light operations.

This picture isn't as "nice" as Raiths, or anything like that, but its simple and it works, just like my rig.

Thanks for letting me use this, azsarge, its a fuckin' killer piece of gear. One of the best I've used.
