A MUST: Anti-fog goggles in some way.  I know there were several times where I simply couldn't see anything last year, and as such couldn't be effective.  I ended up tearing out the cushion on my goggles just to prevent the moisture from accumulating in the padding and obscuring my vision, which helped a little.

It is said that on the eve of battle, Dienekes was told that the Persian archers were so numerous that, when they fired their volleys, the mass of arrows blocked out the sun.  \"Good,\" Dienekes laughed, \"then we\'ll have our battle in the shade.\"

Personally, You get what you pay for. I would gladly pay 200.00 for a LC event.

What sets LC apart from everything else is the leadership. John Lu is an excellent organizer and knows that having McKnight and Mullen as respected and accomplished leaders is what keeps the game going and helps keep players honest and focused on a goal.

So far LC has done well organizing a feeling of selfless pride, honor, and dedication among players. However, making a successful event also depends on the actions of the teams. These teams must be motivated, equipped, and trained.

At OPSH I saw a very impressive FAST team. They all have M16A2's, Kevlar’s, Interceptor Body Armor, and other kit. They LOOKED great. They LOOKED like a team. Yet almost after every hour they were flat on their back asleep. It looked as if some Nerve Agent got the best of them... bodies everywhere. However, I did not see them actually fight on the field so they may have earned their hourly dreams.

At LC a lot of honor and thought is paid to those who have fallen. So begin to prepare your gear, your soul, and your tactics.

This is gonna be so sick. I can't wait till' it's time to start packin for it! I gotta start gettin more gear for it.. and sure as heck start workin out.

Do alot of people just get some sort of backpacks to use out there? I know I won't have the same vest as everyone where I can just attatch anything to it. Would even a mil. type backpack be ok?

Oh, and if you wanna know or anything, Dust2Dust is David, FarFromEinstein (Justin) plans on going and I'm Nathan.

I found that backpacks were not necessary last year.  Basically, you'll want plenty of water, some munchies for energy, and ammo.  Ammo should include a battery and enough BBs to last the day.  Depending on your shooting style, this could weigh you down.  Control your shooting, and you lessen the amount of weight you have to carry  ;) .

I had a 100oz camelback and a bunch of extra water bottles small size that come in 24 packs at grocery stores.  Turned out, I needed only 2 of the extra water bottles and 1 of those was given to somebody else.

I had a pistol as a back up which I used a couple of times as fire-fights dragged on (standards only  ;) )

If it is the same as last year, you could return to the staging area during the day.  I had to due to AEG crap-out   :( .

The event is a way off still, so go to games where vets are going to find out what worked for them.  Then absorb that information into what works for you.

I attached the Guarder assault pack to my interceptor for LC III.  There were definitely times when it was helpful for carrying extra ammo though for the most part I didn't use it too much.  There were definitely other times when I really got tired of hauling it around.  It's really a judgment call, but I'd recommend laying out everything you think you'll need, getting rid of half of it, then trying to make it all fit on primary gear (ie vest and drop-leg pouches).  If you have  a butt pack, that would probably be more than sufficient.  Also, one of the biggest trend in big games is that for the first scenarios everyone goes out looking their best with all sorts of extraneous crap, but as they get more tired and more focused on competing than playing dress-up (which, although fun, can be more of a hindrance), they ditch everything down to the essentials.  For example, I started out with Interceptor vest, all mags, drop leg dump pouch, pistol on drop leg holster, guarder backpack, extra batteries, a bag or 2 of extra ammo, extra food and water and all sorts of field repair kit.  AFter the first scenario, I had ditched some of the mags, the drop leg stuff (including pistol, though that depends on how much you trust your AEG) most of the crap in the backpack.  If you can fight your most effectively with a full ruck for a whole day, then by all means do so, but shed any extra weight that hinders your performance and cut down to the bare essentals.
