inside the gearbox, it features a micro switch, quick spring change, and a anti revesal latch button, and 16awg wiring. (btw the button is loacted behind the mag well and is very flushed so pushing can be hard.
the gears are arranged in a vertical fashion. the spring guide features ball bearings, a nice touch compared to the masada

the nub is interesting. it is a block and is a arm/ nub combined into one while it rests on a 45 degree angle and when actuated goes into a straight 90 and resembles an h nub.

now carefully you can slide the gearbox out.
the hop up unit is held to the outer barrel by one pin on the top

to remove the wheel there its a o ring holding it. remove the oring then you can push the roller out.

the bucking is a red and is a v teeth shaped

next remove the plate above the trigger area. they are two hex screws. be very care when removing the plate as there is a very small spring under

next you want to remove the piece holding the wiring and barrel these are two hex screws inside

to remove the gear box first remove the screws holding the barrel down.

next remove the screws inside the mag well and on the back of the gun under the motor

now you can slowly lift the gearbox but not all the way due to the rods. be very careful now remive the screws holding the plates on the side of the gearbox holding the rods

be careful not to lost those springs and to bend them they are very thin and easily bendable.

on the back the butt pad can be easily pulled off and reveals the back of the motor.

to access the quick spring change system first you will have to remove two body pins. the body pins are screwed on

now you can hinge the gun and access the the quick change spring. the tabs holding the pins a very thin so on the hings i would remove that pin as well that hinges on the front

here you can see the rod system operating the trigger and mag catch.

the inner barrel goes all the way to the end and is - 14mm threads unlike the masada which are positive.

for battery compartment, it is located in the pistol grip with a cover. the space is quite small and a stick small type lipo is recomended.

pts recomended a 7.4 1100mah 15c lipo

surprisingly a 8.4 brick will fit but the wiring will have to be pulled out of the pistol grip and placed somewhere inside the gun. a 9.6 nun chuck will not fit

(8.4 all the way in)

picking up the gun for the first time i felt its was heavier than expected. without the mag and battery the gun weighed at 4.4 pounds with most of the weight in the back. with most pts polymer is has a nice texture and is very comfortable to hold.
the pdr has on mono rail on top and all ambi controls, such as the mag release, charging handle, and shell director.

the pmag i received was defective as they did not assemble it right so the bbs would not feed properly.
the trigger is a glock type trigger where there is no safty but your finger must be completely on the trigger to actuate it. teh trigger is a two stage trigger where a half pull is semi and a full pull is full auto. the trigger is very sensitive in a sense that it is very easy to go into full auto. there is no really definitive stop on half pull like it does on a aug so going staying on semi might be a bit challenging.

the shell director is mainly for aesthetics and does nothing but moves side to side when the button is pushed, same as the charging handle where all it does is move back and forth. to get the the hop up theres is a button on back of the top rail where you push it and the check rest cover piece will hings off from the back.

the hop is a g36 style with a wheel. clockwise for more hop and counter for less. the whell is very easy to move. one thing to note was that during shotting the hop up is very strong. on .20s it was getting flyers going up so .25's and heaver are recomended.

the mag release button is right above the trigger and is ambi.  the button is hard to push compared to other aegs and is especially harder on the left side. inserting a mag is something left to desire. there doesnt really feel like a positive click. when inserting it feels like its squishes in and then stay there so im never sure if the mag is properly seated with out pulling it a bit. with compatibility p mags, beta project p mags, e mags, echo 1 hi cap and d boy high cap works. vfc mid caps aswell but i believe thats due to me having previously shaved a bit on top of the catch for my masada. unfortunantly mag brand mid caps do not work, they just fall out. possibly shaving the catch itself lover might solve this of the shaving the top of the mag itself might fix this.

AEG's / Re: WE Katana AEG M4. Who'se excited?

Well we has done a very decent job with their aeg line and the safety spring release is nice feature. Im pretty ics has done this already except without cylinders its just upper gearboxes. As price point goes its 288 on ehobby so i'm gonna assume it will be around 360 here in the US. For that price save up a little more and get the g&d dtw, its literally a ptw for $315. Either way its nice aegs are coming out with a quick fps change options now without having to go into the gearbox completely.

Troubleshooting / Re: I need a new 1911 Outer barrel
« on: March 01, 2013, 12:47:18 PM »
From what i know and I have 3 Meu's the outer barrels are just held on by friction so i wouldn't recommend getting another stock we barrel. I would recommend getting something like  a guarder or at least one where the barrel is threaded on so it wont just fly out on you at random.
