General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: CQB locations
« on: July 05, 2017, 01:25:18 PM »
TacVille Training Center does dry paint ball and airsoft, along with firearms training. I've never been there myself but I've heard good things from good people. Looks like they are moving at the moment though and are closed.
Sarge,

Weren't you one of the Airsoft Challenge founders?  I miss those events.  The full weekend events of course.. But even the 1 day games were great..  I'd love to see a return of Airsoft Challenge.  Even if it meant partnering with the American Milsim guys, it'd be great to get a large scale game here in AZ again..

I would be careful taking Airsoft games to an Indian Reservation.  Most have very strict "Real Steel" gun laws so they might have weird laws regarding replica firearms like airsoft guns.. I would call both the City of Chandler and Gila River Indian Reservation to see who exactly owns that land and if it is legal to play there. If it is.. I am so fucking down with playing there! Sounds like it would be a shit load of fun!

Obviously, he meant October 15th at exactly 12 noon as that's the middle of October.  Don't show up late though because then it's past the middle and the game is over.

At these coordinates: 32.837363, -111.497888

Seems legit. haha

General Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Forum Traffic

Thanks for the insight guys.  I had a feeling Ron's passing had something to do with it.  Its a shame a quality Airsoft shop hasn't opened in a central area like Tempe again.  I'm sure a bunch of us miss the long two or three day events..  But I even miss the day games like Red Dagger II and the national guard armory in Mesa.  Good times..

General Off-Topic Discussion / Forum Traffic

I've never been the most talkative guy on the forums but I was looking at the forum stats and noticed a major dip in forum traffic in 2013-2014.  After a while being away from the sport I've been trying to get back in it but it's been tough with the lack of quality events and overall, state-wide slow down of the Arizona community.

What I'm getting at is more then anything I have a question for some of the older members of Airsoft Arizona.  What do you guys think caused that major dip in traffic on the site and the presumed death of the sport and Arizona?  As will as the death of quality Mil-sim games, such as the games the Combat Challenge guys hosted?

Thank you guys for taking the time to read this post and I apologize if it rubs anyone the wrong way..

What a disappointment. Never though I'd see california fearmongering make it to arizona. What a sad day.

What do you mean?

BBs are ballistic. Once they leave the barrel they are no longer being acted upon by the gun.
Some people started getting the notion that somehow a bb traveling at a set velocity being propelled by air from a tank is different than air coming from a piston. Here in calistan, they equate .2g bb @360fps (1.2J) fired from any HPA system as having the same KE as a .3g @ 500fps (3.48J) fired by a bolty or even an AEG. Like HPA tanks grant you the ability to pour more speed in to a bb after it has left your barrel.

So they ban them or lock them down to ludicrous or unplayable ranges and can't give a reasonable explanation as to why.
AZ held out for several years but it seems the irrationality has spread. Though its a little higher but it is still the same premise. Have an HPA or gas bolty? Limited.

Is there a bill in the works?  I haven't been able to find anything.

General Airsoft Discussion / Is Combat challenge done for good?
« on: September 18, 2015, 12:48:47 PM »
I feel like there is a good number of people here that have been wondering whats been going on with CC and if they are going to host any events again.  I remember some great moments up at Camp Navajo for Balkan Hammer..  I would love to see them put on another event like that with 150+ people.  But I do understand how difficult it is to set them up.  It would be really cool to see the put on another event like Red Dagger II again though.  That was a great one day event at the AZNG Mesa armory that had and awesome turnout.  I know that I have quite a few posts about the CC guys but its not for reason..  They really knew what they were doing and knew how to draw people in with the story lines.

The reason I bring all this up again is that a while back I noticed that they CC website was still up but all the posts were for all kinds of bootleg sporting goods..  That's when I realized it was pretty much done.  But most recently I noticed their domain for the site has expired on 9/5/2015.  So for Mark, Mikey, and SARGE you still have a fallowing all these years later and we'd love to see you guys again!  ;D
