ICS MP5 muzzle adapter?
« on: September 17, 2006, 05:27:33 PM »
I'm getting an ICS MP5A5 (on its way from AirsoftGI as we speak. WooHoo!), and I was thinking about putting one of these http://www.evike.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=W&Product_Code=Adaptor_ICS_MP_59&Category_Code= on it along with a stubby suppressor of some kind. Apparently, it replaces the entire fake "muzzle" of the MP5 and allows you to fit a suppressor flush with the front sight assembly.  I'm just wondering if anybody here has (or has had) one, and whether or not they are secure (ie, no wobbling), durable, etc.?  :)

I have the same setup your going for, and you shouldn't have any problems with the adapter. The other side of the adapter (not pictured) should have an allen screw to tighten the adapter to the MP5. Also, get ready to spend some money to upgrade/fix the gun to have it playable.

My experience.

Aha...I was wondering about that. I couldn't tell from the pic exactly how it was secured. Thanks.

As to the ICS, itself, we'll see how things turn out.  You guys will definitely hear about it one way or the other. ;)

I got the adapter, and it's pretty nice. the only prob I had was that the set screw is supposed to seat in a little "dimple" on the bottom of the adapter, but the adapter was a tiny bit too long (maybe 1/32") to allow this. A few minute's work with a file and it fits like a glove. To anyone else who may be considering one of these, they fit snugly on the gun and hold the barrel totally securely. A rock-solid design. 8)
