I've noticed it pretty consistently every night when I check around 10 p.m. Next day in the morning, no problem.

First off, you would find the internet says the Cybertech brand doesn't exist.

A good catch. My eyes immediately read "Cybergun."

God helps those who helps themselves, and so does the internet.

This site is on the Internet. ;) So I'm trying to help our OP out a bit without sending him all alone into the wilderness of contradiction, hearsay, heresy and horseshit. I did a lot more Googling about this stuff in the last few months than I care to admit. But one conversation with a guy like Slinky, Spazz, Spartan or even that ignorant savage Pride educates me far better than hours on Google.

Recommending a new battery doesn't help without giving specific parameters which we can't give since we don't know what he has.

If you run down to a place like Gearbox, they're always gonna sell you a battery that's better than stock. But I could've been more specific about what the milliamps and voltage ultimately mean.

While more mags is always good, I wouldn't consider that an "upgrade".

Heh. My Dogs of War mid-caps are a huge upgrade in the field from the stock hi-cap. Bad mags make for a crappy playing experience. Good ones make for a lot more fun. Whether we agree that it's an "upgrade" is semantics.

Lastly, generally you upgrade when you want to accomplish a goal.  I want a turbo for my IS300 because I want 400hp.  OP has made zero mention of what he's trying to accomplish.

This is an important point. Why does anybody upgrade anything? To make it better. When you're new, you don't really know how much better other people's guns can be - what makes them better - what's even possible to do to your gun. Maybe the best bit of advice for our new guy is "go out and play, and see how you're getting killed. Talk to the people who shoot your ass off. Find out what they did." Some of that will come down to the gun - the rest will be down to moving smarter and faster. Using cover more effectively. Flanking, flanking and more flanking.

I do think a lot of players - especially new ones - have so much fun comparing gear that they forget that it all starts with the game.

So, we'd probably all agree on this: Play first. Upgrade later. So there, Dog ... get out to the field. Meet people. Shoot them. Get shot by them. Repeat. Then worry about that Cybergonad or whatever it is! Sounds like you're already working on that if you talked to Bambi, so good on ya.

So us new guys have a funny relationship with the Google machine. The OP seems smart enough to know that:
1. Just because you find it in Google doesn't mean it's true.
2. He may not know all of what's possible to do to an AEG.

I played my first game in November. And I'm only starting to get a handle on what's bogus, what's overblown, what's legit. "Google it" doesn't help much when you don't even know what to ask.

Dog, for your AK ... a tight-bore barrel, a good battery and a few quality mid-cap mags are a great start. Your groups will be tighter, your ROF will increase and your gun will feed reliably. I know this because I was there a few months ago with my AK. Externals? Don't worry about 'em. Can't say I'm familiar with the Cybertech brand. But I think these three upgrades/accessories are pretty solid for any decent brand of AEG.

Just so ya'll know, there's a few more photos. And tomorrow? Maybe even video ...

I love how I'm in a lot of them. Favoring your stalker commander I see  ;D

Aw, it ain't like that. It's just that you were never behind cover like everybody else. Since you were more exposed than Paul Reubens at a movie theater, you got lots of pics!  8)

I've had good luck with:
-A light recon vest
-face/eye protection
-BDUs
-A decent AEG (an Echo1 AK, in my case) w/four mid-cap mags, two speedloaders and a -----spare battery
-gloves

Everything else is gravy.

There's not much call for the sniper role in typical games.

To add to what Xavier said, Airsoft would not have hooked me if Vanguard had been my first taste. My intro was one of the STALKER games at Sasco. That was just nuts. And FighterTown is awesome, too. For stores ... Gearbox on McClintock and Southern is a bit further away from you, but they're good people.

Welcome. I'm also a new guy. Played my first game in November. I've sifted through a lot of the beginner-itis by getting out and playing, asking questions and really listening to the answers. So far, zero gun/magazine/miscellaneous failures and just a lot of fun.

Let me know if I can do anything to help flatten the learning curve.

goods pics buddy.

Thanks, Spazz! One of these days I'll have to get some on the field with the helicopters ... but that field is so much fun that I have a hard time sitting that one out.

some awsome pics! none of me though  :'(

If you describe yourself, I'll see if there are any of you. There are a few I haven't uploaded yet, and still a few more that I took with my little pocket camera.

Or I may have just thought "Nah, that guy is ugly enough to break my sweet 70s-vintage lens"!  :P

If not, I'll be sure to watch for you next time I bring my camera out.

I sat out a game or two yesterday to snap a few photos. I have some video, too, but haven't gotten around to editing. My least-favorite part!

For now, I've got some posted on one of my flickr accounts. Enjoy!

Had a great time today
Yes! The between-game banter was nearly as fun as the action. Great day for Airsoft.
