AK semi-auto problem(?)
« on: May 25, 2006, 01:55:44 PM »
My AK has been spitting out two bbs in one shot in semi-auto everynow and then.  It did it 3 times today, in less than 100 rounds.  Full auto functions fine... but it only does it in semi auto...

it happens to marui ak's a lot i think. it happened to me like 3 times. the timing of the gears and selector plate deal are probably off. you'll have to open it up and check it out.

There is no such thing as timing...

What magazines are you using, are they new?

It happened to mine as well as a few friends.  It was relating to the hopup and magazine.  Have you made any alterations to your gun in the recent past?  Something since it was working fine and the present?

It has been upgraded.... if thats what you're asking.  I use Tokyo Marui standard magazines.  And shoot Excel .25g BBs.  My hop-up seems to be working fine... :?:

its also possible that your nossle is coming back too far on your gearbox
so that could point to your clip not lining up your gear box isnt set right or your barrel but you should let jerimiah look at it. thats what i do when i cant figure sumthin out

I had the same problem with my AK that I got a while back.  I had it a little worse, actually, every second or third trigger press I did it spat out two BBs.  I switched to .12s and it works better... but it's still buggy.  Just something you may want to consider.  Now it only happens about three times a match.

Using 0.12s in my AK would be for shooting down UFOs.  Even if i did turn the hop-up all the way down, the sheer force in which the BB is ejected is too much for the 0.12g bb to handle... it'll literally zig-zag in it's path, if it doesnt go straight for the sky.  0.20g bb isn't any better.  Nothing but 0.25g bbs goes through my AK.

Unless it gets worse, i'm not TOO worried about it.  If it spits out two, then i'll just switch to full auto and give'em what's coming...  8)

.12....WTF!! Like said previously. Never run anything less than .20's. What brand of AK do you have? Unless you have a $80 piece POS. At the minimum you should use .20's.

If you upgraded the nozzle and it's now having the problem. Put the original nozzle back in. A simple thing like a nozzle being 1mm to short can cause it to double feed. If you crack open the gear box check to see if the tappet plate is moving freely in full range of motion. If the tappet binds (check to see if it's in good condition also), that can also cause it to double feed. GOOD LUCK!
