TM M4
« on: May 25, 2006, 03:56:50 PM »
i was accessing the gearbox on my TM M4 and when i was putting everything back on, the front cap thing that holds the handguards would not fit over the metal peice holding the hop-up system and inner barrel in place.  How do i fix it?

And a very noob question, how do i take the gearbox out of the body? lol, i have the top part taken off but how do i take the gearbox out?

I am really confused on what you are asking.

Anyway, to get the gear box out you must first take both hand guards off. Then, take out the pin that holds the hinge together that makes up your receiver. Now, the gun will be connected by a pair of wires. The wires connect the fuse and fuse assembly to the wiring harness inside the gear box. They are connected by two pieces of shrink wrap, pull them apart at the shrink wrap, and you will be left with male and female connectors, and the front assembly should be off. Now, in order to remove the stock, you must pull on the button that you push to move the stock. (The stock will not have the clearance to come off if you do not pull the button down). Next, get a long phillips head screw driver, and unscrew the scew that holds the buffer tube on and pull the buffer tube off. Now, you should be left with a lower receiver without stock, upper receiver, and front end. Next, unscew the motor plate, remove it. Next, pull the wires from the motor. Then, look into the pistol grip and you should see two scews holding the grip onto the body. Remove these screws. Now, you should have only a body with the gear box in it. Next, remove the mag catch, you will need a small hex key. Next, there is a small pin just above the trigger, go ahead and punch that out. Finally, remove the feeder that is atop the mag well. After you have done all of this, just pull the gear box out.

Note: You will want to find a place to put all of these parts, and remember where they go in the gun.

It sounds like he's talking about the delta ring.  To me, it seems that he already worked on the gearbox and is putting the gun back together, but he can't get the delta ring into proper position.
