nope, no baathists in the council.  try again.

and i misspoke, it was over a week ago that oreilly had made the claim, and at THAT time, he was the first to use it.

and..  how about a un council aimed at nationbuilding?  how about iraqis selected by the citizens?

Uh... your "news" story is almost a YEAR old.  In the course of a year, things change.  Try looking for more recent news and you'll see that members of the Baath party have indeed been included in the Iraqi government.

You're right.  The Ba'th party (rightfully so) is not represented in the Governing Council.  I suppose that would be like including the Nazi party in the post-WWII Germany reconstruction - duh - my bad.  I did notice that they had set up a committee to return members of the dissolved Ba'th party to their former positions in accordance with the Governing Council Resolutions No 52 and 54 - but not a whole lot of info on it.

Well, I've seen it spelled "Baath", "Bath" and "Ba'th".

And that's what we're trying to help them achieve.  It can't be done overnight.  Would they have ever gotten there under Saddam (or his sons)?

no, but they might have gotten there by now if this had been done a little differently.  btw, you are aware that the governing council is setting a date of sept 08 as the earliest possible elections?  under the suggestion of paul bremers replacement (forget his name).  do we really think they'll meet that date?

Anyone heard anything about this new Michael Moore documentary/movie?  I have yet to watch his "Bowling for Columbine" but from what I know of him I can only imagine what this one will be like.
