Since you are doing a budget DMR.. Don't get a new barrel quite yet. Polish your stock brass one, and hopefully it's a .05-.08 bore. I would advise against the zci .02... Not to mention, their windows makes rhop installs that much more aggravating. if you are really concerned about the barrel, either pdi or prommy are very nice. I think you are giving up on the stock parts a bit too easily. Tuning goes a long way. If you plan on doing your own rhop installs, ditch buying that stuff from airsoft retailers, you can get it for like 50 cents per foot online -.-
Oh, and keep the JG gears. Xyt's are fine. No need for aftermarket gears unless you want a different ratio.

It's quite obvious you are pretty new to this whole thing.. Take some time to do some research. Don't base your choices off of what 1 person says (not that their opinion doesn't hold any value). Ultimately it's your decision. There are hundreds of different combinations to achieve whatever your goal is for your gun.
The first two questions asked here should've been "what is your goal" and "what is your budget"

Simple rule of thumb: Snipers are built, not bought. In fact, that goes for any gun you want to shoot at longer ranges. If you want to outrange the AEG's, you will need some money, time, and patience.

Either way, JG Blues are pretty torquey, but rather slow. Won't be the best option for trigger response.

I understand this is an ancient post but i wanted to bump it back up in case it'd be of use to someone. If anyone wants any "how to's," posted, let me know and I'll see what i can do, even though im sure everyone uses other sites for guides. if i remember, i reached the 20k character limit on the OP. Would a mod be willing to either 1)increase the limit or 2)delete the posts below the OP up until my 2nd comment so i could add more information in the future?

I definitely remember jungletoy. Got my first ICS m4 from there. That didn't seem like too long ago.. It was also nice seeing all the guys at gearbox, pretty relaxed atmosphere. Seemed like I would go there every week, sometimes I don't think I had any plans to buy anything. Never felt like I necessarily fit in because of the age difference, though I did feel welcome. I'm really not sure if we will ever get a small company like that again around here. I agree that the sport has become a recreational activity and I suppose it has its pros and cons. Personally I feel the "new" has had a more positive effect in general, the big gripes probably being the lack of professionalism, respect, and devotion to the sport. Might as well embrace all the good that the new has brought because we can't stop it. As for the bad... Well, sometimes we can't have the best of both worlds. Just my two cents.

Troubleshooting / Re: KWA gbb track record problems.
« on: February 03, 2015, 08:47:36 AM »
Typically I void the warranty within 30 minutes of getting a gun..  "opening this seal voids warranty." ::)

There is nothing wrong with E1, dboy, cyma, etc. Let me or any decent tech tune your chinese clone and it'll perform better and last longer than a $300 gun at half the price (not always the case). Of course, some people dont care for their guns so they want these "lipo ready," "already upgraded," "best gun on teh market." Its a hoax to get your money. The passion of tech work and care for the guns seems to be diminishing with the technology on an everyday airsofter basis, which is what other members here may have  been getting at when they said "old school," though is seemed to hint at a more social innuendo.  But there are notable techs who keep striving to push the limits of the sport, within their own means.

At any rate, no manufacturer is perfect. Pick your poison i guess.
