I thought those of you who also own an SD5/SD6 might benefit from this...
Those of you who own a SD5 or SD6 know how horrible it is to not be able to attach RIS accessories unless you buy a horribly expensive RIS attachment (like the one at Redwolf - $60). I have made one very easily for less than $10. I bought a standard weaver rail from Sports Authority for $4. I then bought two clamps ($3) that are for plumbing at Home Depot. I'm sorry I don't know what they are called. They are used to tighten seals for PVC pipe and are simply metal rings with a screw that tightens and loosens them according to which direction you turn the screw (you'd know them when you saw them). I simply then drilled a hole about the size of the one in the solid section of the metal clamps, painted them black, and attached them to the weaver rail with a small nut and bolt. After it is together you can simply slip the metal clamps on you silencer and tighten them (I cut the excess metal off the end of the clamp as well) and voila, you have a RIS rail very firmly attached to your silencer. With this rail you can add an assortment of lasers, flashlights and other cool stuff. I do suggest you have a metal silencer since the clamps might stress a plastic silencer and the added weight of a flashlight or laser might break the thin plastic that holds TM silencers on.
The clamp looks almost exaclty like this one in the $60 (also) AE unit.
