Opinion: The Glock 26 is a better choice.

Fact: I've seen another shooters XD break during a course of fire.  It was not due to poor maintenance OR faulty ammo.

That is enough to prevent me from ever depending my life on an XD.

I carry a Glock 19.  As soon as the Glock 26 Law Enforcement packages come off backorder, I'll be buying one of those for concealment.  The 19 is not too big to carry, it just limits what can be worn over it.

Now, shoot both and make the choice for yourself.  Then get some ammo and train with it.  No matter what, get tritium sights and a quality holster.  I like Comp-Tac holsters.

Enroll in a good CCW course.  Carry it everywhere it is legal to do so.

I had an issue with mine as well.

I had a failure to feed.  First off, I am meretricious with the care and proper lubrication.  I had a little over 5k rounds through my pistol before I had a fatal problem.
After firing a few rounds the pistol completely locked up with a LIVE round partially loaded into the chamber.  There was no way to clear it at the range, I tried everything.
I ended up putting it in a vise, setting a deep socket over the barrel and on the slide, and then bashing the s*** out of it with a 5# dead blow before something inside broke and the slide went back to eject the shell.  I called Springfield and they quickly replaced the pistol with several free mags and other crap.  I sold it 3 days after I got it the new one.

If my incident was the only one I knew of I would say its a lemon, but with only a few people I have told I have found 3 others here in Phoenix alone hat had the exact same problem.

I would say DO NOT buy the XD, but a Sig P250 .45 ACP sub or compact pistol.

Were you using reloaded ammunition?  That sounds like what can happen with a brass case that is too long.

As for not cleaning for 2K rounds as an endurance test, that is a pretty standard round count between cleanings.  10K and keeping it lubed is more of an endurance test. ;)

I'm getting ready to set up an LLC so I can buy my first one myself.

You don't need an LLC to buy your own NFA items.  I suppose I am misreading your post.

Robby, there should be an MR556 at SHOT.  I'm planning on attending the live fire demonstration, and HK will likely have one of these available.

There are alot of other [more useful] items making a debut at SHOT this year, though, and the MR556 is about as close to the bottom of my list as you can get.

I was saved from buying a tan frame HK45 only by the fact that HK has not released them yet.  Had they been available when I was interested in buying one (about 2 years ago), It would still be sitting in my office while I continue to shoot my 1911 and Glock 19.

As cited above, this topic has been discussed at great length in previous threads.

I'll second that bad review on King Arms. My friend bought a box, and not a single one will feed properly even after proper lubrication.

Same here.

They only feed intermittently in my CA gun when I push the mag forward against the front of the magwell.

It doesn't really matter what brand, just pick colors you like.

I usually use the Krylon Camo paints.

Ganef painted my .223 LMT/LaRue Recce rifle with Krylon about a year and 1/2 ago, and it still looks great.  It rubs off in areas of wear, but that's life.

I'd call ass beatings and a guaranteed life of poverty just a little excessive. Compared against the actual men and women who earn the honor, not the tin, he is nothing. And that is all that matters.

Once again, you are so far out of your lane you are in oncoming traffic.

It's a Federal Crime.

It's no longer about honor or integrity, it's about the law.

As for getting your ass beat, it happens.  It all depends on who is nearby when the info is dropped.

I have no idea what possesses people to do this sort of shit, but what they fail to realize is that it's a federal crime.

Be proud of what you've done and leave it at that.

If you are a civilian, do the right thing and get on with your life.

I've had the pleasure of seeing firsthand what happens to this kind of turd, and it isn't pretty.  Pretty much assume that you will never work again, after you get out of prison, and that there's a great chance you will get your ass beat physically.

This kind of shit is not taken lightly in military circles, and there are FBI agents dedicated to prosecuting, and locking up, posers.

As for CDR Salonga, she deserves a round.
