Eagle vs. Condor
« on: June 28, 2010, 11:27:58 PM »
I noticed that alot of people on hear run two types of plate carriers. The Eagle Industries Plate Carrier w/Cummerbund - http://www.opticsplanet.net/eagle-industries-plate-carrier-w-cummerbund-molle.html and the Condor Quick Release Plate Carrier - http://www.airsoftarms.com/Condor-Quick-Release-Plate-Carrier, which looks almost like the new vest they gave us at RFI before deployment. I was just wondering for the people who are or have worn ether vest what are the pro and cons for them.

Eagle gear retains a higher resale value if you want to ever sell/switch items down the road, Condor does not.

That is like comparing:

and...

Eagle has been making high speed gear in the USA for decades now, condor comes in steals designs and makes them at bargain basement prices in third world hell holes.

If you want good quality stuff, rumor has it that, some guy named Ganef makes gear. As a matter of fact he has a few nice pieces for sale in the sale section of this very forum.  ;)

If I had the cash I would have the MCish plate carrier. I have been considering selling my EI CIRAS and moving to a lighter more movable rig.

BUT I do second the post by Nil8tr and Ganef Eagle is real world "I might have to trust this thing with my life" gear. Condor is.........not.

Thank you all for your advice and recommendations. Just so use to the Army giving me everything and saying, “this IS what you are going to use, get use to it".

If you were issued the MBAV (plate carrier), it was made by Eagle Industries.
