Airsoft Patches
« on: June 15, 2006, 04:34:35 PM »

Over the years I've been playing airsoft, I've amassed a fair number of patches and the like.

Among the ones I like the most are the patches given at Ops.

Operation Crimson Dunes - August 16-18, 2002 (Agua Dulce, CA)
Operation Restore Order - November 7-9, 2003 (Riverside, CA)
Operation Lion Claws III - May 28-30, 2004 (Tehachapi, CA)
Operation Cold Burn - November 19-21, 2004 (Four Peaks, AZ)
Operation Lion Claws IV - May 27-29, 2005 (Tehachapi, CA)
Operation Irene III - September 23-25, 2005 (Ft. Knox, KY)
Operation Lion Claws V - May 26-28, 2006 (Hesperia, CA)

I don't know what that is on the Crimson Dunes patch.  It kinda looks like a scorpion, but it only has six legs, so who knows.

But I think these are my favorite.

At some point in the future, there will another run or perhaps another version of the AA patch for those people who don't have these ones.

My favorite is Ralf picking his nose.

I also like the AA patches, though I never got one when I had the chance.

Crimson Dunes wasnt that good from what I hear, so it looks like the patch reflects that well : )

It is a scorpion, the 2 front claws are actually legs.
Sorry for correcting you.

Well, I was kidding.  I know its supposed to be a scorpion.

But, actually, scorpions, like all arachnids, have 8 legs.  That one was just made or copied by someone who didn't know any better.

I like the Ralph patch too, Ryan.

what he was saying is that scorpions are arachnids b/c they count the two claws as legs.  They only have 6 "legs" so the patch is actually correct.

That's not a real patch though! That's just a colorized version of your logo you put a crosshatch pattern on!

I call shenanigans.

I'll have to take a picture of my patch collection tomorrow, even though I accidentally left half the box at JT Scottsdale.

The pedipalps are never counted as part of the 8 legs which distinguish an arachnid, so no the patch is not correct, dont believe me? try and find a photograph of a scorpion with 6 legs.

Try a scoprion that was unfortunate enough to get capture by some bored 11B soldiers in some remote EDRE....  sick puppies would pull their leggs off and make them fight.....
