No tuition assistance for military members
« on: March 12, 2013, 08:12:27 AM »
If anybody wanted to join the military for school, the DOD has cut all tuition assistance. Meaning if you wanted to get an education while in, you now have to pay for it yourself. The national news isn't reporting this, so just a fair warning to anyone that plans on enlisting. You still get your gi bill, but you can only use that after 3yrs.

For anybody wondering, here's a link on the story directly from the DoD's website:

Total bullshit... Taking care of our active warriors and returning veterans should be a much higher priority. This shit pisses me of beyond measure. I'm still enlisting, but this is a truely shameful act against our heros. I wonder what they will cut next...

From what I've heard illegals are still recieving tuition assistance. I haven't heard much about it but if that is true, this administration needs to seriously rethink their bullshit agenda.

You would be correct, its on the state level however. But the kicker is that with the dream act an illegal can become a citizen if they go to school for 3yrs or more, or serve in the military. serving in the military makes sense, going to college doesn't. Not only does it make college that much more competitive for natural citizens, but in essence the state is paying to make people legal citizens.

It's bull shit. Our soldiers don't get money for college, they come back from overseas with PTSD and missing limbs, but they don't get care for that either. Our soldiers give so much for this country and all they get is crap. Yet we give millions to foreign countries who hate us? When did we go wrong.

Isn't it great that our government will spend 15 million on a study of why lesbians are fat, but won't keep finding for college for military personnel.

See Mooncruizer's and my post, people therein is the answer plain and simple, when our congress is returned to the simple, OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, and FOR THE PEOPLE we will continue to lose as citizens, enough action at the polls and in a few years we will not have to bitch, BUT IT TAKES CONCERTED ACTION PERIOD... I don't like to discuss politics on the forum but members this is the ony way the people, (you and me, and the rest of the nation) as a nation will be able to correct anything... VOTE PEOPLE, VOTE!!!

I guess I am up to my $0.04 now.

The GI is immune cuts. Now, processing of applications is a different story...
