Well it looks pretty self explanitory to me. Its not killing airsoft but its going to make thing get more expensive cause of the penalties invovled for the store owners and such.

Airsoft is considerd an alternate Paintball "Sport" there for it isnt banned just means dont be walking to the feild with your gun out in the open.

I think it would be kinda hard to argue to a liberal CA judge that airsoft is a "certified or regulated sporting event or competition."

Well, that seems like it's going to be no good.  if you pull a toy gun out on a cop, you deserve to get shot.  if you take one into a public place and make a scene, you deserve some tye of legal recourse.  people who would do that will do that with or without laws, so makeing laws that are going to make it harder for law abiding airsofters to be able to play and purchase airsoft guns.  it's silly, really, and damn, im kinda dissapointed that once again the government has decided that people can not make that callon their own so they made a law for it.  damn, land of the free...whatever.

Or perhaps airsofters could say they are members of the unofficial civil defense malitia and they are practicing their homeland defense maneuvers. You know, being prepared for terrorist attacks and stuff... you never know when you're going to find a sneaky terrorist about!

Damm I love AZ...Kalifornia wants any and all things that look like or function like a gun banned.Thats why I would never live there and don't care to vacation there.

I just wrote to John Lu to see what his take is on this.  Since he hosts most of these big games he should be up to speed as to how it's going to affect Airsoft and especially for those of us that travel from out of state to attend his games.  I'll post his response when I get it.

"I don't know what he signed but all my games are held on private property hence am not concern about the new law.  I agree with the State that airsoft guns should not be used in any public areas, i.e., schools, streets, parks, and etc., but all my games are on private property, cancealed from public viewing."

Jason, where did you find this article?  Most of the CA airsofters I've talked to have had little to no opinion of this, or have said that it was old news and not a problem.

I asked him what this new law ment to those of us traveling from out of state to attend his games?  I expressed concern that someone getting pulled over by the police with an airsoft gun in their car without the markings that this law stipulates could end up getting arrested.
