AEG's / Cradle Airsoft - Billet V2 Gearboxes
« on: November 19, 2013, 10:48:47 AM »
AA Members,

Just wanted to inform the community that our machined gearboxes are now available for order. Quantities are limited due to the incredible amount of time needed to machine a box entirely from bar stock. For those interested, we are a LOCAL company (Mesa). Im sure I've bumped shoulders with most of you at one point or another.

Price is set at $349

http://www.cradleairsoft.com/shop/billetbox-v2

From the site:

Overview

The Cradle Billet Box has been designed from the ground up to be the most robust gearbox available. That’s because our mechanical engineers have meticulously reworked standard gearbox geometry where it matters most to optimize strength, fit, and function.

Improvements over standard gearbox shells:

1. Wire routing paths have been increased in size to allow for running higher gauge power wires and FET signal wires.

2. Integrated shelf at motor entrance position means wires are protected from the motor pinion gear when installing or removing the motor.

3. Anti-Reversal Latch access window. Allows user to decompress spring prior to gearbox disassembly.

4. Angle of Engagement viewport. This hole allows users to view sector gear to piston rack alignment thereby aiding in making fine AoE adjustments.

5.Optimized to fit Siegetek gearsets.

We machine every gearbox in house on our high speed vertical machining centers to ensure the quality and precision of every unit. After machining, each box is deburred and hand inspected to ensure a perfect finish prior to being type-III hard anodized for abrasion and wear resistance. Both high performance and conservative builds will benefit from the smooth function of properly aligned internal gearbox components like gears, tappet plates and pistons.  This box accepts 8mm bushings or bearings and standard V2 gearbox internals.

Compatibility

Compatible with Version 2 AEGs and internal components.*

Features

Machined from domestic 6061 T-6 aluminum bar stock
    Durable type-III hard anodize finish
    Machined in the USA
Laser etched markings won’t fade or rub off
Includes necessary hardware to join gearbox halves and mount motor/grip
Accepts 8mm bushings or bearings (not included)
Various internal and external improvements to allow for ease of use and tuning.

*While we have designed the box around the original TM spec, it is possible that some parts or combination of parts may require modification beyond the scope of general users. For this reason we recommend this product only for technically inclined enthusiasts and techs comfortable with modifications or other fixes. We make no guarantees to parts compatibility due to the non-standardized specifications of many manufacturers.

If you have any questions or want to stop by to take a look at a box feel free to PM me!

Thanks guys,
Travis

Gas Powered Guns / Re: GBB M4

Get a KJW.  Plain and simple.  Both Raven1 and I have put thousands upon thousands of rounds through ours.  Many other players have done the same all without a failure or the NEED to buy parts for it to keep it running.  Both of us have had AGMs (Raven1 spent well over a thousand in parts for his and it still had issues).

If youre in the valley and would like to see/hold/shoot a KJW I can meet up one day at gearbox.  Drop me a PM if youre interested.

Local Games Listing/RSVP / May 2 CQBAZ Game
« on: April 27, 2009, 01:37:21 PM »
One of the main thing that deters me from regularly playing at CQBAZ is the somewhat inconsistency in attendance and types of players present.  I imagine this applies to many of you as well.

I am planning on playing this saturday starting at 12am.  If youre interested in playing as well please respond.  Hopefully we can attract a decent sized game with some great players.  See you guys out there!

I think youve done a great job getting things together both legally and from an organizational standpoint.  I dont think anybody is complaining or trying to ruin anything for anyone.

Having said that I will most likely be attending with a total of 3-4 players.  This is pending as work may require me to travel this weekend to Oregon.  Otherwise, see you all on the field.

Stop worrying about the law

Youre entitled to your opinion but you must realize that even in the absolute best case scenario youre still flirting with trouble.  Airsoft isnt a sport that will ever be able to handle much negative press.  It could take as little as ONE incident to cripple the growth of airsoft in our state and others.  Be smart guys.

I don't know how guys have been doing it lately but I know how it was done 6 or so years ago when AA first started planning games.  I think the biggest two things done were 1) contacting the law/governing authority/land owner for the geographic area that the game is being held in and verifying that the location has no restrictions on use (ie firearms, vehicles, etc) and 2) letting them or the police in that area know what we do, what it looks like, the exact area, etc so that if somebody is dispatched they know what to expect.

Im not sure if those interactions resulted in some sort of written agreement though.  Im sure the vast majority are verbal.  Best to take note of the names and numbers of the people you talk to when getting approval just in case you get harrassed.

Not having any run-ins with law enforcement doesn't make it legal.  Nor does it mean anybody who is in charge of patrolling the area and carries a real gun has any idea who you are or what you are doing.  I wont attend this event it looks like.  I know you may think my position is unwarranted and alarmist.  Its just not worth it for some of us to risk it.  Not personally nor for the sport as a whole.

Any breakdown of what BDU colors are going to be used and who is on them?

Also, I may attend this event and bring several others with me pending confirmation from the organizers that correct law enforcement has been contacted and a green light has been given to play.  Im sure there are several people who would like to play but wont unless you can provide some type of assurance the game is being held legally.

Full face is required but available for use at the site.

Not only are pistols running on green allowed (as long as theyre under 330fps) but theyre the most effective weapon I used all day.  I got way more kills with my pistol than my primary.
