Battery Issue
« on: May 01, 2010, 02:47:32 PM »
I have a G&P M4 pulling a m120 but as soon as I put the M120 in it,it has a crane stock 9.6v 2200Mah Ni-mh battery, the battery doesn't hold for that long about 50 shots in a row and it would die down starting from of 10.8v to 5.0v. Question is should I just get a new battery or use some Li-Po's I bought a little while back that's a 7.4v 1200Mah-2 of these.

just to clarify..

you have a G&P with a M120 spring? or a G&P 120 motor..

are you saying that your 9.6 volt battery only lasts for 50 rounds when pulling the m120 spring/powering the 120 motor?

Use the lipo... you may have fried the battery...

Sounds more like a messed up gearbox and/or motor and/or shorting wires though. Usually messed up batteries won't charge up to about the right voltage.

Sorry if I was a bit vague, it has both in it, and recently I just had the spring put in it at GB. So I doubt it's the gearbox but I'll try the Li-Po soon.

OK so I used the Li-Po today and it did the same thing started out decent then slowly died in about 50 shots, I have no clue.

could be the fuse. when they start to wear out, they heat up faster. When they heat up, they have more and more resistance... sucks more power. Same thing can happen with the motor.

Battery is fried get better battery, or check your shim job M120 have and incredible amount of force and any bit of friction will screw it up, so check that before you invest in a lipo. Its better to spend $5 on shims that $50 dollars on a battery

My apartment is infested with koala bears. Its the cutest infestation ever. Much better than cockroaches. I turn the lights on and a bunch of koala bears scatter. I\'m like, come back! I want to hold one of you, and feed you a leaf. -Mitch Headberg
