And unfortunately it wont just affect LA. I just hope it wont cause a ripple effect, poisoning other cities/counties/states to adopt a similar approach to airsoft.

My eyes are now pinned on the large retailers located in LA such as Evike (i know i know, but i look at all of them) What do you guys think they will do? Using Evike as another example, they just moved to their current location.

First of all, welcome to our community, we always appreciate newcomers. Like the previous few people already said, don't join a team from the beginning. Take some time to learn the dos and donts of our beautiful sport. Learn what airsoft is all about, ask questions, look up videos and just attend some games. Ignore people telling you to stop playing games like CoD or battlefield, but i will warn you to never compare a video game to this sport. Many of the people you will encounter are very serious about airsoft and do not appreciate childish, immature behavior. It is not my intend to frighten or scare you off, but merely to explain what you will encounter and something to be ready about.
A ghillie suit is pointless, unless you plan to attend mil-sims (military simulations) Find yourself some gear that you feel comfortable wearing, that you can run in without causing discomfort to your body. Boots are not a must but a personal preference. If you don't like boots, check out some good tennis shoes.
Last but not least, be prepared for good airsoft equipment to be rather on the expensive side, it will take much time and money to acquire better and better stuff to compete with some of the guys that have been playing a lot longer than you.

And one last time, ask questions - ask questions - ask questions

In case the g36c is still an option

JG MK36C - I recommend this rifle to anyone. It is incredibly upgrade friendly, it is reliable, sturdy, constant and just a beautiful weapon to look at. When i opened up my gearbox for the first time i was surprised to find that the gearbox was already a very solid and good build. Perfect for both CQB and normal outdoor runs. It should top your requirements at ease. Attachments are easy to put on. Rails can be purchased just about everywhere. And because it is evike you can always get coupon codes which should trim this rifle's price down considerably.

As ThatGuy said, it will be the tappit plate - youtube your gearbox type and there will be detailed and graphical instructions on how to put it back together. Make sure the flag part didnt brake off when putting it back together, could be another possibility if the spring is attached.
