In the market for a new AEG.
« on: August 25, 2011, 09:36:56 PM »
So i've been looking heavily into purchasing a E1 'Red Star' AKM (F-Metal, R-Wood); It appears to have stellar reviews across ASGI and Evike, I was curious of anyone has any experience with this AEG? I'm planning to purchase 6 King Arm's AK Mid-Caps ontop (But from Evike as a box set, since ASGI's boxset's always are sold out) aswell as a Triple AK Pouch for my Rig.

It also appears that this is just a CYMA 048, Rebranded.

ASGI also is having a blow-out sale on APS Weapons to clear inventory, Any input on these? as they seem a cheaper option and carry the Blow-Back feature (Which would be nice, since Myself and others do filming and this would phase out hours of Editing in bolt blow back artificially)

Comments? Input? Advice? Concerns?

IMO, its a great gun for the most part, but it does have its faults. Ok first of all, it will shoot fairly hot right out of the box(410-420) so chances are you will need to replace the spring immediately. Also, the furniture on it is kind of wobbly, and there really isn't anything you can do about most of it(personally, its really not that big of a deal). Overall though, I love it, except for those minor issues mentioned above, it gets good range, decent accuracy, and is reliable for the most part. I hope this helped.

(I'm 99.9% sure that this is a CYMA 048, if that matters to you)
