Barrel extention on my 614?
« on: August 29, 2011, 06:51:17 AM »
So when I bought my echo 614 it came with a barrel extention. But I cant get the flash hider off. How do  get it off. And does the extention just screw on? And also if I put it on do I need a longer inner barrel?

Only if you don't dry it thoroughly afterwords. The hot water is just to loosen up the glue under the flash hider, assuming it is glued on of course.

You could try licking it and see if you taste glue.  That's about as likely as rusting the barrel.

I had a real PITA time getting the flash hider off of mine because of the glue.  Since it was a birdcage, I put a narrow screwdriver through the vents to give me a little more leverage until the glue cracked loose.

A strap wrench has always worked well for me for things like this. You can get 'em at The Depot for a couple of bucks.

most people that run barrel extensions such as gemtechs are using the extension to hide the longer inner barrel they have. no u dont need a longer inner barrel but most people run the longer barrel with the extension.

Thats basically what I was planning on doing. Getting a longer tbb. And putting the extention to cover the extra parts of the barrel.
