General Off-Topic Discussion / AA Membership issue
« on: June 22, 2006, 01:30:07 AM »
The two links I've been able to find to apply don't work.
Has the application been dropped?

At any rate, looking to becoming an official AA member( I hear BBs never actually touch them, they simply call themselves out because the other guy made a good effort. ).  If someone could direct me in the right way or if they happen to have an application on soft copy, email it to me that'd be great.

The link I'm following is off of here:

AEG's / CA M15A4 RIS Questions
« on: June 21, 2006, 04:17:49 AM »
I've been chairsofting for quite some time, as I intend to be getting back at it here in July I've been getting my list together of things to get and things not to get.  I'm nearly 100% certain I'll be purchasing a CA M15A4 RIS as I want a long range rifle, in appearance at least(I know AEG's with similar upgrades all function at pretty much the same range.).  I'll be going with optics and other things that give it appearance of something used in non CQB/MOUT environments but still the ability to function well enough or with a few trade outs make it a good CQB weapon, hence the RIS being important in my choice.

By looking at the photo I see the carry handle can be detached, is that a picatinny rail that it's connected by or is that an adjustment I'd have to make if I wanted one up there?

In the way of internal upgrades, would it be best to purchase all different parts for the gear box seperately or just buy one of the systema drop in boxes?

Just hoping to get a full list together of what to buy before I actually make the purchase, I'd rather drop a lot at once than chip away little bits every couple of weeks.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT:
Mag reliability question.
Found 1 relevant post.
http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumbb/v ... ght=m4+mag
But I don't feel any more certain of which mags to purchase..Which mid and lo capacity magazines function best in the CA M15 series?

General Off-Topic Discussion / Farewell to the 3rd ACR from Tall Afar.
« on: February 15, 2006, 10:51:09 AM »
Long read ahead, but it's a farewell/thanks to the 3rd ACR from the town penned by the mayor.

In the Name of God the Compassionate and Merciful

To the Courageous Men and Women of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, who have changed the city of Tall Afar from a ghost town, in which terrorists spread death and destruction, to a secure city flourishing with life.

To the lion-hearts who liberated our city from the grasp of terrorists who were beheading men, women and children in the streets for many months.

To those who spread smiles on the faces of our children, and gave us restored hope, through their personal sacrifice and brave fighting, and gave new life to the city after hopelessness darkened our days, and stole our confidence in our ability to reestablish our city.

Our city was the main base of operations for Abu Mousab Al Zarqawi. The city was completely held hostage in the hands of his henchmen. Our schools, governmental services, businesses and offices were closed. Our streets were silent, and no one dared to walk them. Our people were barricaded in their homes out of fear; death awaited them around every corner. Terrorists occupied and controlled the only hospital in the city. Their savagery reached such a level that they stuffed the corpses of children with explosives and tossed them into the streets in order to kill grieving parents attempting to retrieve the bodies of their young. This was the situation of our city until God prepared and delivered unto them the courageous soldiers of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, who liberated this city, ridding it of Zarqawi s followers after harsh fighting, killing many terrorists, and forcing the remaining butchers to flee the city like rats to the surrounding areas, where the bravery of other 3d ACR soldiers in Sinjar, Rabiah, Zumar and Avgani finally destroyed them.

I have met many soldiers of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment; they are not only courageous men and women, but avenging angels sent by The God Himself to fight the evil of terrorism.

The leaders of this Regiment; COL McMaster, COL Armstrong, LTC Hickey, LTC Gibson, and LTC Reilly embody courage, strength, vision and wisdom. Officers and soldiers alike bristle with the confidence and character of knights in a bygone era. The mission they have accomplished, by means of a unique military operation, stands among the finest military feats to date in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and truly deserves to be studied in military science. This military operation was clean, with little collateral damage, despite the ferocity of the enemy. With the skill and precision of surgeons they dealt with the terrorist cancers in the city without causing unnecessary damage.

God bless this brave Regiment; God bless the families who dedicated these brave men and women. From the bottom of our hearts we thank the families. They have given us something we will never forget. To the families of those who have given their holy blood for our land, we all bow to you in reverence and to the souls of your loved ones. Their sacrifice was not in vain. They are not dead, but alive, and their souls hovering around us every second of every minute. They will never be forgotten for giving their precious lives. They have sacrificed that which is most valuable. We see them in the smile of every child, and in every flower growing in this land. Let America, their families, and the world be proud of their sacrifice for humanity and life.

Finally, no matter how much I write or speak about this brave Regiment, I haven t the words to describe the courage of its officers and soldiers. I pray to God to grant happiness and health to these legendary heroes and their brave families.

Good time killer...Buy mines rubber balls and a fire hose as soon as possible...Go to physics so you can turn up the amount of objects on screen.

Set everything on fire have the balls bouncing and try to put them out...Not easy.

Could be hokey though...That's pretty low.

Accessories & Gear / TT gear arrived.
« on: January 04, 2006, 05:36:31 PM »
So...there was that sale, and I had to upgrade from pockets to something better suited to the carry of other gear.

I got the 2 piece MAV and the BIB (Some other things as well, but these are all that matter at this point.)

MAV is great, took a little d*cking around with to figure out how to swap the drag handle back piece on.  Perhaps if I used my hands instead it would have been easier?

At any rate, the bib now creates some issues.  It won't go on with being slightly folded over itself on the front.  It's too large for the spacing they have on the MAV.  The two buckles on the front are at a set distance (straps sewn looped around the buckle).

Am I dumb and the bib was only meant for the 1 piece?

Anyone who owns (or has experience with) the MAV and bib from TT, comments please.

There is a solution, but I'm ill-equipped to handle that.

Ganef, PM incoming :)

General Off-Topic Discussion / How do you intend to bring in the New Year?
« on: December 30, 2005, 02:45:45 PM »
Below you can see a portion of my plans.  Finally have an appropriate time to drink this bastard.

You may be asking...Why the high speed red filter and HOW did he get it?
Well, I had to be sure you could all read the "platinum" on the bottle, and the flash was killing it and without the flash you couldn't see anything.
As for where I got that filter?  I stuck my finger partially over the flash.

General Off-Topic Discussion / 1 good reason for joining the military.
« on: December 30, 2005, 11:12:51 AM »
Of course, you'd have to go 97B (Counter-intel) or similarly qualified intel position...

Position is responsible for all Locally Employed Persons (LEP) screening and Interrogation Support to the MNF-I.
• This is 1 year minimum contract with the opportunity to go up to 4 years.
• Annual Compensation - $94,702(Salary) + $23,675.42(Hazard Pay) + $23,675.42(Hardship Pay) + $11,000(Bonus) = $153,052.50 (Total Compensation)

I'm exceptionally happy to have a child on the way....But if I didn't, I'd be gone by now :

General Off-Topic Discussion / Civilization IV
« on: December 29, 2005, 09:27:22 PM »
Great game, never played the Civ series before.
On the other hand, Saladin is a war mongering bastard and I'm going to burn his city of Mecca to the ground once my tanks roll through it.

Anyone else play it on here?

I'm curious about the nukes....have not used them in it yet, but the book talks about them having negative impacts on you as far as relations with other civilizations go...Sounds neat, other games I play the nukes just kill a ton of things with little effort.  These actually leave fallout and damage your political standing.

AEG's / If you wanted to make an Alien pulse rifle...

Or if you just have trouble counting your BBs as they fly out the barrel...This could help.

Pretty smart guy I suppose, I think his finished product conceals pretty well onto the gun.

AEG's / Systema drop in gear box
« on: December 28, 2005, 02:12:12 AM »
Anyone have experience with them?
I realize systema is quality, but is there a better solution to their gearbox (i.e. 1 or two of the pieces are made better by another company?)
Or is dropping the sytema box in your gun pretty much a final solution for upgrading the gearbox?

Also, I found the gearbox for the m4 series at $230ish

I noticed this post was missing the word gearbox...so....Here it is, gearbox

The link above is to a photo of a TM M4, with add ons.  The 203 is Marui, I think...and a G&P aimpoint.

It's "only had a few hundred put through it for testing" but what hasn't?
Assuming it IS in condition stated, think TM G36c that actually has only been used in 1 game and a broken TM G3SG1 are worth the trade?

Well, I don't feel cheated and that's the important thing...just curious what you guys would have done?

In other news, a back rub earned me an extra thousand bones for airsoft...249 and some other stuff early January...word.

AEG's / Giving in.
« on: December 15, 2005, 10:23:52 AM »
Im going to get an M4 variant.
I gave in, I got weak and collapsed.
At any rate, I have 1 fine stock functional AEG, so i have no immediate need for this.

Reccomendation, should I get a CA and add to it, or simply buy the parts seperate?

I can't put a gear box back together very well, but the other things come rather easy, it shouldn't be difficult to assemble from scratch, should it?

Another good thin for assembling from parts is to get the best of each piece without buying twice, and being able to take my time in the assembly.

Suggestions/opinions?

General Airsoft Game Discussion / If your airsoft world were perfect?
« on: December 11, 2005, 03:44:50 AM »
I thought about making this a poll, but decided I really just want to hear the discussion.

If you could have your perfect field, what would it be like?
More along the lines of war torn Bosnia/Sarajevo....Afghanistan....or Iraq?
What would be some of the main "attractions" at it...I guess SI has those 2 helicopter skeletons...stuff like that.

Just looking to see what everyone else thinks.

I personally would like something along the lines of Bosnia(Saw enough of Iraq and Afghanistan....screw up hill runs and seeing the enemy but not being able to hit him) with a good central MOUT facility(with big buildings, lots of them) and scattered trees around it.  And a few russian/american vehicles just to add to the flavor.
