Understood and you are correct to a point, but didn't they really die for a paycheck?  They are not part of our military as far as I know but rather work for a PRIVATE CONTRACTOR to provide security for individuals.  Yes they did serve and deserve respect for that.  If it was me and I got wasted over there as a contractor I wouldn't expect anyone to cry anymore for me than if I got kille in my car on the way to work.  Let's not get carried away with this.

It's all kind of on the same topic Christian.

It gives anyone who's thinking about hooking up with one of these companies something to think about before they do it and figure out later it was a mistake.

My buddy John was all set to go over for 75k for the year but his buddies  coming back talked him out of it.  Shit for weapons, and no support from the agency.  Not Black Water, a different outfit.

Nice Andy, looks like my old Ruger except I had the lighter colored Fajen stock.  You'll have to figure out what brand of ammo your barrel likes best.  At 100 yards off a bench I could keep 10 shots in the black on a .22 target.

Just goes to show you that the terrorists are DEFINITELY winning this war no matter what the gooberment and news tells you.  They've got us so paranoid that we'll turn on each other in a heart beat from fear.

Thanks for the correction guys, I've never delt with one myself and was just going by what I've heard.

Still, what he was suggesting won't work, since you need to permantly modify your M4 to shoot semi only to qualify for the 500fps sniper limit.

also... with the same m4 upgraded to 500 fps... would a bb break of some sort...(i've seen them out.. the correct terminology is slipping my mind) that could slow the bb down enough enable it for full auto feild play be acceptable?

You're referring to a velocity reducer and no it won't slow down a 500fps bb to 400fps.  Maybe 20 or 30fps at the most and your accuracy will deminish as well.

For things such as this, someone may want to invest in getting a chronograph that measures Joules.  I'm not sure if there is a projectile-weight setting on these, but that would simplify things a lot.

Well there's always the tried and true "Cimmarians" FPS converter.

http://www.cimmerians.com/FPS_Converter ... 0converter

Looks 383fps for .34 BB's is what you'll end up with using 2.32 joules.  This figure is based on a sniper gun using .20 BB's at 500fps.  Reverse calculations using 2.32 joules with a .34 BB gives you 383fps.

I use 90% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on a small  Hoppe's square with the provided cleaning rod for AEGs.  After a few swipes, using a fresh square each time, I run two dry squares through.  After that, I moisten another clean square with some 50 weight silicon R/C shock oil and run it through.  Another dry square through to remove excess, leaving a very tiny ammount of silicon, and I'm done.

When I do this, I clean the hop bucking with spray silicon (very low viscosity compared to the shock oil) and a Hoppe's square.  Then, I wipe it several times to remove any silicon that may remain.  Some guys spray the stuff in there, which only reduces the sticky effect of the rubber bucking.  This reduces the hop-up effect, and makes it inconsistent.

I clean the hopup chamber itself in the same manner as the barrel.  Q-tips can be used here rather than the cleaning rod/cleaning squares.

For gearbox lubrication, alot of guys use white lithium grease which is available at any hardware store.  You might have to get it in a larger cardboard tube, but it's all the same stuff.  What I use now, however, is USGI M14 grease.  It comes in small plastic cups with a yellow cap, and is available at gun shows for less than a dollar.  Raith gave me some, and said he heard about it from Harley.  It apparently stays-put better than white lithium, and provides more durable lubrication for your gears.  Use it sparingly.

That's the way to do it!

A G36 Cylinder will work.  I can't recall if it has a cut out on it or not, (3/4 versus full cylinder).  You'll have to check for yourself.  Otherwise yes it will work.

Top cylinder is a "High Speed 1/2 volume" unit.  Bottom unit is a "3/4 volume" unit.  A full cylinder has no cut outs on it.

What he failed to include in his data is altitude and air density.  Those two are big factors.  But as Victor3 stated, most PDI170's I've installed only averaged around 390 to 400fps.  On the rare occasion I have seen them go to 420, but that's very rare, and I would almost sumize that it was a mispackaged spring in those cases.
