EO Tech Replica vs. ACOG Replica
« on: December 14, 2008, 09:23:56 PM »
I have a CA Tactical Carbine and I was wondering if an EO Tech replica would be better than the ACOG replica.

Well seeing as there really isnt much pinpoint acuracy in airsoft I would say eo-tech, but saying that I usualy use an aimpoint replica, and I think ive actually turned it on once, I ususaly just end up aiming in the general direction, however Ive never really used an a-cog replica so i cant say how good they are, I've used a Trijicon at the range a few times and it was cool, I dont think id spend $1,000 on one though...

Better in what way?  It's pretty much going to be personal preference.

For me it came down do how i like to play, i would go EOtech if you are more aggresive and fast moving... acog if you like to stay back a little farther, acog looks cooler to me tho...

In my experience red dots are more practical in Airsoft. Magnification is not going help at all unless you want to spot. It is going to depend if the ACOG has magnification or not. The EOTECH will have easier target acquisition verses looking through an ACOG.

Like KOBO said it is way easier to look into an EOTECH than an ACOG, I have owned both and the EOTECH is my favorite out of both, costs a little more but is worth it in the long run

I say ACOG. I had one on my M4 for a while, and it rocked. The magnification allowed me to watch my rounds go downrange and adjust for where they were landing. Once you get it "zeroed", it allows for faster kills. I was usually able to make my kills in 3 or 4 shots(provided they called the hits).

EOTech replica's are crap.
I owned a HurricanE 553 replica which is about the best you're going to find and in the bright AZ sun the reticle just disappears.
I used it for one game and ditched it.
MAYBE if you were playing at dusk or dawn it would be alright but the rest of the time my findings were that it was useless.
Since then I've switched to a G&P ACOG replica and I've never looked back. 90% of the time I'm playing I just shoot from the hip in full-auto and lead my shots in so iron sights or a scope are not necessary for me but that other 10% of the time I'll take potshots in semi-auto at someone behind cover and the scope is a godsend. I also like to use it as a spotting scope to check out things from afar. My ACOG replica only magnifies 4 times so its just about right for airsoft and the reticule is cool too.

Note: Trijicon makes the ACOG......

But as for the optic choice see which one YOU are more comfortable with. Its all personal prefrence.

I was meaning there are a lot of replica a-cogs, and I never used any, so i cant say anything about those, but Trijicon is good quality. the one i used had the fiber optic stuff to light the crosshair, was really nice.

the acog is heavier, it looks cooler, but mine dont center the reticle right, my eotech is leek, wierd looking, and eats batteries.

yes the real Trijicon ACOGs with the fiber optic light collector are very nice and cost like $1300  :(
I'd love to get one for my .308 battle rifle I'm gonna build one day  :)

They cost as much as the steel you put it on that is the sad part.  But somthing tells me this rifle you plan on building is going to be 2-3 grand.
