Anyone up for a day of real steel shooting?  For those who have rifles/handguns, when is best for you guys?  Maybe those of us who don't have the guns and are interested in meeting up should be the ones to supply all the ammo...

Is Ben Avery the best place to go?

I checked out http://www.mandallshooting.com/

It looks like the place to go...  $50/hour for machineguns?  Cool.
I'll see if I can talk my wife into going there with me sometime...

Thanks for the info John and Ed.

Hmmm, they dropped their price.  Last time I rented one there they charged $100 an hour.  Business must be slow.  Go have some fun Jason, you'll get hooked!

I'm all for a day at the range.  Let me know when, we already know where.

I am in for any Saturday morning you guys want to shoot, but the indoor ranges charge way too much.  For $4 I can shoot all day long at Ben Avery.  I used to work at the biggest (formerly, anyway) indoor range in the Valley and while it's nice, it's pricey.

The only reason I'd go to the indoor range is because of the gun rentals.  If you guys supply the guns, then I am all for going to Ben Avery.  Let me ask my wife, and maybe we can tentatively plan it for the 26th of this month...  ?

Avery is probably closer for most of you guys. Personally I hate the guys over at Mandalls, they are always jerks when I have been in there. Shooters world somewhere off of indian school does rentals also. Have not been there yet, but have heard some good things. I go to Phoenix Rod and Gun club, but I live on the south side of town. PHX R & G is open to the public on Sat & Sun, it costs $5 per person. But you bring your own stuff, and it's not nearly as big as Avery.

My Beretta can be used by anyone who comes, especially if they bring some 9MM ammo!  Heck, you can shoot up the whole box if you wish through my gun.  I'll also bring out a gorgeous Browning lever action .22 rifle I inherited.  Not a round through it yet so I want to break it in.
I'll check on that date, Jason.

I go to the Rio Solado Shooting range out here at UseryPass Rd.
$3 to shoot and I have quite a few pisols and rifles to shoot!
All you would need is to buy your own amo for them!

I called Mikey - he can't make it (was really disappointed), but John is in, I will be there (with my wife) and Kyle said he will try to nake it.  Vell, if you can be there too, that would be cool!  John said it would be best to meet there at about 7:45AM (Sat the 26th).

As a side note, I went to Mandall's last night and shot a 9mm HK USP and MP5.  [:D]

Have fun!
Too far for me to shoot when I have a range near my house.
Just be safe!

Jason (Nelson): Thats too far for me also.
Maybe we can go sometime. I don't care for Rio Salado, so I have a real nice spot I go to about 2 miles south of the Rennaisance Festival. Very flat, and a nice clear line of fire about 250 yards.

Rio Salado is a nice range, but for those of us on the west side it's way too far to drive when Ben Avery is right by us.  I'll be bringing my Bushmaster M4, Bushmaster/Colt HBAR Elite, Beretta 92 9mm, Charles Daily Commander .45, Ruger Mark 1 .22, Ruger 10/22 Chevy Challenge.

If you want to shoot any of them just bring the appropriate ammo.  .223, .45, and/or 9mm.  I have pleanty of .22 ammo so don't worry about that.
