Review: Star SCAR-L with EGLM
http://www.starairsoft.com/product_deta ... ductid=337Ok this guns is awesome and I'm glad i bought it. The construction is very solid. At 12 pounds the gun is hefty and after several hours of play it will make you tired unless your not used to it.
Performance:
This gun performs extremely well for being completely stock. With a stock FPS of 380 with .20g BBs the only thing one would want to upgrade would be a tightbore inner barrel. The hop-up is also exellent. It takes less than a quarter turn to get .25s to fly straight. After the hop-up is set it does not move. The hop-up assembly is built into the gear box. The hop-up bucking is kept connected to the inner barrel in the outer barrel assembly. The whole thing than goes straight into the hop-up moving parts on the gearbox. Breaking down the gun is very simple and as on Stars website can be done in 30 seconds. Putting the gun back together is also simple and quick.

The stock-
The battery fits tightly into the stock with easay access by just removing a pin. I did run into a problem with my battery, due to the maker of the battery having plasitc caps the battery was to thick to fit in the stock. This is because the assembly to adjust the stock runs down the whole inside of the stock. The stock when folded does not have any exposed wires like with the CA SCAR-L, Also the stock does not affect the space around the trigger like the CA SCAR-L. Although the stock should be able to be adjusted to 6 different positions mine only works in 4 not a huge problem but some might not like that. The stock makes the battery connection to the upper reciver using Deans Ultra Connectors.

Star SCAR-L vs. CA SCAR-L :
The two SCARs are fairly close but some small aspects are better on the Star. The take down is one plus along with the trades and stock. Bad news for CA SCAR-L owners hoping to just buy the EGLM... the Star EGLM does not fit on the CA SCAR-L. The bottom rail on the CA SCAR-L is about 3/8" to long to allow the magwell to line up with the
launcher.

The EGLM:
The EGLM is exellent. The operation is very smooth. The grip is spring loaded and when the release is used. The grip than moves to the front of the tube which rotates the tube unlocking the tube from the back plate. The whole thing than slides forward and cants to the left or right depending on the user. The grenades just rest in the tube and are not held in the tube like on the G&P series M203s. The launcher attaches via QD, there are two levers on the right side. The GL just goes straight onto the bottom rail. Take down of the launcher is simple there is a clip at the front when pushed to the side allows you to pull the lower assembly off the upper assembly. A nice plus of this launcher is the firing pin
moves far enough to reset the valve on 40mm shells. There is a small spring loaded peice in the back plate that forces the shells to rotate down and out of the launcher.
