Hi guys! Its Exarach again! Chiming in today to provide with another review! This time on the very unique Real Sword Type 97b!

Damn right its awesome.

Initial Feelings
When I am cruising around forums looking for anything interesting, I occasionally run across something either too unique or too good of a deal to pass up. One name that will consistently live up to that standard is Real Sword. Real Sword makes arguably the finest airsoft rifles on the market today, and there QC and attention to detail is legendarily superb.

The Type 97b is no exception.
At first I was skeptical of the 97b, but I have always wanted to try out a Real Sword, the price was too good to pass up. The factors combined and I know hold in my hands the beautiful RS 97b.

The gun comes in a nicely worked cardboard box, and is packed tightly in high density foam. It is probably the nicest  packjob I have ever encountered on an airsoft rifle, right up there with G&P.

The Type 97b is definitely one of the oddest looking rifles I have ever seen, much less owned, HOWEVER, it is indeed a case of form over function! (And honestly, I really do just like the way it looks  ) It is instantly obvious that some serious thought was put into the creation and ergonomics of this rifle, the grip is beyond comfortable, and feels very natural. It is quite similar to the grip of the P90, however, it provides pistol style grips, rather than the wrap around rest of the P-90. I really like this idea.

I have never been a fan of foregrips, believing them to be both annoying and prohibitive to correct operation, preferring to grip the magwell. and I have always loved the countered feel of the P-90/Mp5k Ect, where the front grips are folded smoothly into the body of the rifle. Allowing smooth passage and motion.

The type 97b takes the best of both worlds. The grips provide a very large surface area for good contact and excellent control of the weapon, while being molded into a single lower piece, allowing for smooth corners and seam lines, which allows the operator to get there hands back into position very rapidly, and require there grip on the gun.

This is good news for the rambo in you, as the good grips and very well balanced weight allows the type 97b to be wielded single handed with very little difficulty!

Build quality is extremely good, however, my lower receiver tends to wobble, not bad, just feels a little odd. The metal and polymer used in this rifle are extremely high quality, and the rifle is a joy to hold. Everything is put together extremely well, and replacement parts are readily available for low prices online.

Onto performance!

Performance

The gun shoots at an astounding RPS with the stock battery, almost 16-18 rps. It sounds like a champ, and appears to have no difficulty maintaining this ROF all day. Apparently the Type97b can reach RPS in excess of 27-30 with the addition of an 11.1v battery and mosfet combo. I for one believe it. The stock rps is fantastic, good enough to hold its own on the field, but it sucks pellets down fast enough to run your mags a little faster than you would expect.

Accuracy is good for such a small rifle, the gun shoots accurately with .25's out to about 150-175 feet max. A tightbore should increase this, and I am looking to purchase one in the near future.

I have yet to chrono the rifle ( I am going to do this tomorrow morning when I have time) but I believe the gun to be shooting between 350-370fps, as it was shredding through cardboard boxes in my apartment.

Pics are coming soon!

In Conclusion
The Real Sword Type 97b is a fantastic gun. It is made of extremely high quality parts and materials, and feels quite solid in hand. The weight is nice, and the handling is fantastic. The rifle is perfectly balanced, and it shows it with superior control and usability. The hop is fantastic, and very easy to access and adjust, and everything just feels good. Overall, I would rate this rifle as a must have for anyone who likes the look of the type 97.

Good quality, excellent finish, and overall performance. Proves once again that  appearances can be deceiving.

***MORE PICS TO FOLLOW< FINAL TOUCHES TO COMPLETE THE REVIEW WILL BE UP AFTER I GET BACK FROM WORK.
