I hate recruiters.

With a passion, Who else is with me?
Score a 98 on your ASVAB and you get literally harrassed!
Some Marine Recruiter just stopped me an hr ago outside of Sport Chalet to spent 20 minutes telling me I should be a grunt.
I hate being rude to these guys...but sometimes its like, dude. Go away.

I got a 98 on the ASVAB, and I remember I got hounded for almost 2 years afterwards.  The Army called a number of times, but it was the Marine Corps guys who kept calling back, always asking questions like "What are your plans?" and "Have you ever done any drugs?"

Maybe if you said, "I plan to do a lot of drugs" they'd leave you alone.

haven't heard that one yet....Air Force calls ALOT...I have a drawer full of recruitment crap. But, When they ask if I want some info..I say..Do I get anything else with it? And they usually send me a hat, beanie, or a bag of some type.

I remember when I turned 18 the Army wouldn't stop calling me (back in Hawaii). Over here I remember an Army recruiter and his buddy literally stepping out of their car and trying to recruit me when I was walking out of my apartment on my way to work. I thought, "These guys must be desperate for recruits..." and I just told them thanks but no thanks.

The Army calls my cell phone every couple of weeks.  My school sells our numbers to the recrutiers.  I tell them I have other plans, and don't need the army.

Navy calls, I actually talked to a recruiter for about an hour about hockey before he went "Oh shit, I gotta get back to work, when's the best time to stop by?"  I never went.

Airforce have only called me once, I told them I was somewhat interested, but if I keep getting bugged by recruiters, I won't enlist...

Marines are (or were) ruthless.  They call my house, cell, email me.  I finally got fed up with it because I no matter what excuse I used, they didn't stop calling.  This is the last resort, because it could hurt you later... but I said "Don't ask, don't tell won't work for me..." then hung up.  No more calls!

Well, I doubt it will end any time soon. I'm active duty AF and the Army still sends me recruitment packages every few months.

Back in about my Junior and Senior year, I got calls almost every week.
 talked to a Marine recuiter about enlisting for about an hour, really only because I didn't feel like telling him I wasn't interested in the Marines.
I expressed interest in the ARNG, so I got a ton of info on it, but really just had to keep telling them that I didn't want to enlist until i finished college first.
I understand that it is what they are told to do, and so I just repectfully talked with them each time.

I went in to talk to the navy recruiter (least possible intrest) and he basically told me I could spend 7 years and get an ascociates degree. I informed him I had a scholorship to ASU to get a BA in 4 years and he said "well, do you have any friends that would be interested..." so...owned, and they never have called back.

Isnt there a policy that says if you say no three times and ask them to take you off thier list they by law have to.

Before I had joined the Army, I was considering the Marines.
They called....all the time....at any time.
In fact, the Marine recruiter is who got me to join the Army.
He called one saturday morning at 7 AM.  I responded with something similar to...I dont like waking up early, I'm not in yet and you're already doing it.  Never call me again.

He didn't, the Army recruiter pretty much left me alone...Spoke to him one time and he didn't really contact me again unless it was something pertinent...needed more info to work on papers or had some questions or whatever.

I could see now how they may be a little more pushy for recruits, low numbers and all.

I get letters from time to time, but never get hounded. The recruiter at my school is really a no pressure guy.

...and to clarify:
I actually had a very good experience with recruiters. I was in the DEP for over a year (I changed my mind about what I wanted to do while in the DEP, so I started over with my contract and therefore the one-year DEP timeline). I got to do a lot of cool stuff with my recruiters and they went way out of their way for me and the other recruits even after they didn't have to. (I got a lot of free lunches, too ;-)
