Gun semi funky?!

My cousins M16 for some reason on semi does double shots, or even has burst where it seems like its on auto for a sec. We called APD to see if they know anything, and said it might be the hop-up or something else.

This is a week old gun, and he thinks it might be that he was cleaning berral of the gun with the hop up not on normal. ( We heard that can damage the hop up? ) We are not sure. Does anyone know what it could be?.

A hop-up unit is incapable of causing your gun to fire bursts in semi-auto.  Is it a CA?  If so, it's most likely the cut-off lever.  If you need any help, feel free to bring it by Gearbox and I can take a look at it.

It's a Echo, can you still help me out. I took it to APD and they didn't do anything, they said it was fine. What i think is that they shot it and just said " Well it shots, nothings wrong with it." or something???? But yeah,  I need the gun by sunday for a game, so I'm going to take it in tomarrow. Hope you can help me.

i read that it could be the selecter switch and that it could just be loose , disconnected, or broken all it really means is that u just going to have to shoot it on Auto and not on semi until it gets fix but im not too sure on whether it will do more damage to ur gun if u do that best thing to do is get it fix as soon as possible it shouldN'T take long to fix it

Are you saying that when you fire in semi the gearbox cycles 2 or 3 times sometimes or does it just cylce once but shoot out maybe 2-3 bb's. If its double feeding like that it is the hop-up bucking most likely. If it keeps firing it is you selctor switch, or your contact plate is getting stuck inside the connertor in the switch assembly.

WELL ITS MY CUZ GUN AND FROM WUT I THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE SELECTOR SWITCH CAUSE IT STILL KEEPS FIRING IT JUST DOUBLE SHOTS WHEN ITS ON SEMI AND IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN HE SHOOTS IT ON AUTO AND THEN SWITCHES TO SEMI....BUT IF IT IS SOMETHING ELSE IS IT A BIG PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO GET FIX RIGHT AWAY OR CAN HE STILL USE IT FOR A GAME HE HAS ON SUNDAY HE JUST GONNA SET IT ON AUTO THE WHOLE TIME.......AND THE GUN IS ONLY A WEKK OLD HE JUST BOUGHT FROM AIRSOFT DEPOT BRAND NEW ...WUT IS UR OPPINION AND WUT SHOULD HE DO ?
