National Collegiate Airsoft League
« on: August 13, 2008, 11:47:37 AM »
Hello Arizona!

I did not see a introduction thread so:
My name is Kevin Evringham and I am the Team Captain for the University of Connecticut Airsoft Team. We are a fully funded (by University) 40+ players team that travels locally, regionally, and nationally to events. This August we were just at Lion Claws Northern Wind with 10 (F 1/4) and in September we will be at Irene with 24 (FF 3/1 and 3/2).

As for info on myself, I am a prior service Naval Cryptologic Technician and was stationed in Denver, CO. After getting out of the navy I was a retail manager for several big box retailers such as Office Max, Office Depot, and Marshalls but finally got out of retail to go back to college full time.

I am a current Junior at the University of Connecticut and am Double Majoring in International Relations and History with my focus area's being Conflict Analysis and East Asia (basically if they offer a class on war I'm taking it).

Additionally I am building a National Collegiate Airsoft League that networks airsoft teams at universities across the country for games and events.  Currently over 30 universities have responded but none from AZ.  If you are in college shoot me a PM or email.

Respectfully,
Kevin Evringham

if you're funded by a university I would seriously try and push to get your team out to this game- http://airsoftchallenge.com/balkan_hammer_II/
its gonna be a hell of a time.

Agreed.  A couple of us looked at going to Red Dagger in May but couldn't make it.  I will see if we can schedule in Balkan Hammer.

Additionally I will relay the information through our organization to see if we can get some California teams to go.

We are actually meeting next week to discuss introducing the concept of allowing community colleges into the league.

The difference's we are considering are:

Lower dues as community colleges have little to no funding.
A per player event cost rather than a flat team rate (it would be cheaper)
CC teams would not have a vote for regional officer elections
CC teams could attend any and all events

We will discuss it Monday of next week at our next directors meeting.  Please send me your contact information through email so we have something to work with and have you on file.
