I ordered once from them. They sent me my systema gearbox - supposedly brand-new - with a pin already broken inside. I sent it back, wanting a new one, and they blamed me for tampering with it (Yeah, I took it apart, kinda had to to see the broken pin). So, they made me pay for the "repairs" and the return shipping. I will never order from Evike again.

I like the pattern and think it looks pretty sharp. I haven't had a chance to wear a pair, yet, so I can't comment on the material (as far a first impressions - wear and tear will be a little longer down the road). I am HIGHLY disappointed that they didn't go with an alternate pocket scheme, however. I would really like a pocket or two on the sleeves when I'm wearing body armor.

Be careful getting legal opinions from CCW instructors....  especially if they are police officers...

they tend to have different opinions than what the courts do.

Only a licensed attorney in AZ can give legal opinions....

I agree. The ccw instructor was a former defense attorney, so I count him as pretty trustworthy.

Nothing as simple and effective as a Glock inder the driver's seat. Had that all the way to TX and back. Lot of lunatics on those roads

I believe this is considered a concealed weapon. In order to have a weapon ready and not concealed, you must have it in a seperate compartment with a holster that you must unsnap, or unzip to have access to the weapon. Of course, if you have a CCW (which I believe you do - this is mainly for those that don't), this is a non-issue if you are riding by yourself. Technically, if you have someone in the car who is not a CCW holder, you have to follow the same rules. Now, who would prosecute for something like that? Just about no one, but that is the law as I have been told by CCW instructors.

Finally, to those of you are so opposed to restrictions on college students carrying weapons, why not let age-eligible high schoolers carry them too?

If there are high schoolers who are 21 I wouldnt want them to go to school with my kids (the legal age to obtain a CCW permit and buy a handgun).

To obtain a CCW or to purchase a pistol from an FFL, you have to be 21. A private seller can sell to someone 18 or older in AZ.

My opinion is that all willing teachers should be allowed to carry a weapon in school, as well as anyone who is legally able (ex. parents). A "weapon-free" area is only observed by law-abiding citizens, not people about to go on a shooting rampage. While I certainly feel the pain of the murders in VA today, it is the anti-gun crowd who has effectively disarmed the innocent of our society, turning them into victims.

On another note, (this is mostly for the younger guys) I just received my CCW the other day. Coupled with the required CCW class, I certainly feel that I have taken on a new level of responsibility. Not in the mentality that "I'm cooler cuz' I'm carrying heat", but rather as a citizen, ready to protect myself and those around me. It was one of the same reasons I went into the military. Lord forbid I ever have to fire a shot in anger, but reality of the situation may dictate that I have choose between taking the life of another human or allowing other innocents to die. Just my .02.

*Opens up a bag of popcorn and sits down in a comfy chair to watch*

On a serious note, I don't understand the complaining on either side. It may be a bad idea, sure, but I'm not about to tell people how to spend their money. People spend $3000 on a computer just to play games on. I think they're insane, but, if they've earned the money, they've earned the right to spend it in any way that meets their fancy (legally, of course). People spend lots of money on cars, which I can't figure out. However, I'd give you $8,000 for a full-auto UZI if I had the cash. Its all about preferences and hobbies.

Furthermore, its a private business and they can charge whatever they want. I'm sure as heck not going to pay it. If the price is too much, interest will wane and they will be forced to go lower. Supply and demand.

In conclusion, I'm not defending anyone's position, just wondering why anyone cares if it doesn't directly affect them. I will admit, however, that bickering is rather entertaining, which I feel is why most of the older posters continue the topic. You younger guys take note ;) !

Austin you need to clean that thing up and make look in somewhat shootable condition if you can. Also that thing is taller than I am... and I am 5ft7 1/2in
Well, then get me some rust remover, because I can't go out and get it myself, and my mom won't take me to get my license anytime soon so I can.

DO NOT attempt to fire that weapon without taking it to a qualified gunsmith. Alot of steel back then was never meant to handle the stress of modern ammunition loads. It has the very real possibility of blowing up in your hands. Its a neat piece, to be sure, but it may be more of a collector's item than a shooter.

Also, what license are you talking about?

I just came from the gun show, where Miwall was there (thats who I used to buy my bulk .223 from).  They told me the price increase was due to "supply and demand" and no other factors.  People are just shooting more, and the production of ammo isn't keeping up.

The price of metals are up which causes an increase in costs to manufacturers. The future of mil surplus is also not too great with the UN pushing heavily for the cessation of import/exports of military ammo to the civilian sector.

It has gotten to the point that it is almost worth it to buy commercial ammo, unfortunately. Reloading .223 isn't terrible, but it is definitely more of a pain than, say, .45.

As for Wolf .223, it's cheaper (though not that much cheaper at this point!), but I find it to be slightly underpowered. Personally, I love Israeli .223.

+1 for Hobbs. While I personally have not had any work done by him, I've seen what he can do and have yet to hear a complaint from a customer. That being said, I purchased an M4gery from him for my father and the deal was top-notch.

I think the reason why they are pushing their way through traffic is because if they stopped, they would be more prone to ambush. To me it seemed like the people knew to get off when bumped. And im sure they oblige because they dont want to be caught in the middle of a firefight.

You are exactly right. Not only that, but guys in vans will drive up in front, pop open the rear doors, shoot an RPG or just machine gun you. Not to mention IEDs. My father was a marine during the early stages there and he said that you NEVER stopped in the middle of town if you could help it. Traffic rules be damned when your life is on the line.

Carson Staughton Gas.  Its a less-lethal incapacitation gas.  Some people call it tear gas, but theres like 100 different kinds.

It sucks to breathe that's all that counts. I hated it.

But you have to admit, a bunch of people running seemingly aimlessly in a field with their arms stretched out, tripping and falling over things as they couldn't see anything beyond their own tears, with mucus flowing down their chins is kind of funny to watch. Not so much fun to be one of those people, though  :( .

Oh, as for Colonel Hella, I honestly don't know. Usually people are only here for 3-4 years as an officer.

CS gas. Canister type (grenades) are a bit of cash (usually $40-$50) but the tablets are much, much cheaper. Basically, you put these on a outdoor burner and they sublime into the necessary gas. Nothing says "I hate you but it's illegal to kill you" like a good dose of CS. Watching people come out of a gas tent is one of the more memorable experiences I have (well, besides being in it myself).

Or, if you just want to scare them, surplus orange smoke grenades (for boat distress signals) can be had for about $8. These are more for effect than anything as they are only mildly irritating to breathe in.

Dear Lord. Please use capitals where appropriate. I'm certainly no grammar Nazi, but I like to be able to read things without squinting. That being said, welcome. I've never been to APD, but from the look and sounds of it, might be pretty decent. That being said, I would suggest that you lay off the advertising for now.

Very nice. Hoping to get an XD-45 for my carry gun. Of course, pictures are never enough - we need a range report!

AEG's / M15A4 Rear Site Adjustment Knob
« on: October 13, 2006, 08:03:12 AM »
So I got back from a game last week only to discover the side-to-side adjustment knob on the rear site of my M15A4 had fallen off.Needless to say, my weapon will not hold a zero without it (the rear site moves freely from side to side :( ). Any ideas where I could find a replacement?
