AEG's / Re: burst-fet
« on: July 31, 2014, 06:47:33 AM »
I did that to my dmr but this is my primary. I want the ability to do more than semi but I will fire to much with full auto simply providing covering fire.

I'll check those two out thanks!

I have the vfc scar-l and plan on upgrading the internals in the next few weeks to shimmer gears and changing out the o - rings and such. But while I'm at it I want to replace the trigger switch removing full auto and limiting it to semi and burst instead. What would be the best trigger option to do that?

Gas Powered Guns / lm4/gbb
« on: July 11, 2014, 08:41:18 AM »
I didn't see anything too recent on this.

GBB and the LM4, I have AEGs and I like each of them but I am interested in getting a gbbr. I don't feel like having the hoses involved with the p*.  Anyone here have a lot of experience with the lm4 and would recommend it or would you have a different one you think would be better?

Looking for someone in the PHX area who can modify the hopup window for er-hop.  Suggestions greatly appreciated.

AEG's / Classic Army SR-25
« on: June 17, 2014, 08:04:46 PM »
I found an SR-25 upper and lower receiver. Everything in the gearbox except for the piston has been upgraded but there is absolutely no furniture on the gun. I am trying to price out the parts it would take to get this gun back to running before I make an offer on the parts as I am doing the DMR as a project gun.  I am trying to find the measurements of everything forward of the upper.  I did find a SR25 RAS kit but it is for the carbine and I haven't been able to find a full length kit that I can tell.  Anyone with the CA SR-25 who can tell me the length of the outer barrel and rails would be doing me a big favor!

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: VIP AIRSOFT SUCKS
« on: June 17, 2014, 01:02:33 PM »
VIP like any field is subject to shitty days.   If you go and no one is there it will suck if you go and there are 75 people it will suck.   Take it with a grain of salt.   I personally don't like it because the field is so over packed with people and there are a lot of kids who won't call their hits... 5 respawns, really?

Get some friends and go to wild west or fightertown. If you want to play indoors tempe is smaller but less cluttered fewer people and the bang bang rule is 5 feet (just pull the trigger anyway)

AEG's / Re: VFC SCAR L buy or no
« on: June 16, 2014, 09:20:40 PM »
Old post I know but for anyone else looking into this gun.

I am and have been running the VFC Scar-l as my primary for a while now.  You have a ported cylinder that will max out on a 407mm tbb if you were thinking of extending the barrel from a 363mm.  As for the internals/wiring I haven't had a problem with it yet.  I run 7.4 Lipo sticks in it since the battery compartment is a tight squeeze but if you do not run on full auto they tend to last me a LONG time. When I run on auto I can get about 4 hours of heavy play out of them.  If you want to get a bigger battery you could consider getting a mosfet or as already said replace the wires and go to deans.

VFC does have the self shimming gears I know that people have mixed feelings about this and I plan to eventually change them out but that wont happen until I start having issues with the gun.  I crono at 389 with .20g and I find that running anything under .25g isn't worth it.

Upgrades: Other that tossing a RDS and a stubby grip on it I have only added a 407mm 6.03 tbb with r-hop, I use a suppressor to cover the inner barrel as it will come about an inch past the flash hider.  That has the gun cronoing at 400 fps (400 fps is my field limit).  Why only an 11 fps increase? the stock barrel is a 6.04 tbb brass barrel which is sufficient for field play but I do sims and when you are trying to really reach out and touch someone the inconsistencies in the brass barrels just won't cut it. I ran the gun for a few months on the stock barrel and it did just fine but the barrel, and hop-up would be the first things I would replace.

General Mods: When I first got the gun I tore it down and checked it out.  The good news is you can take the cylinder and polish the hell out of it and with Teflon tape make 1 hell of an air seal (there are some good guides on airsoft society for this).

The inner and outer barrel fit very well together and I have had 0 vibration but if you really want to you can use grease to get rid of just about any vibration you could have.

In the end I like the Scar-l a lot I think it is a very good platform to work from. My biggest complaint is the battery compartment is so small that you truly are limited in what you run. My DMR has 1 battery that I can run an entire weekend and never have to charge it and I shoot all the time, you simply cannot do that with the stock on the Scar unless you run the wires outside and mount the battery that way. I would recommend doing the basic tuning of your gun (guides on airsoft society) and putting in a nice steel barrel and you will likely be very happy with the gun.

Hey guys I am looking for an SR-25 metal body in good condition. I plan to make this a project gun so it doesn't have to be running at this time though I would really like it if it is. PM me if you have one you are interested in getting rid of picture would be appreciated.

Hey guys I am Chris 26, prior military but fairly new to airsoft. I am in the Peoria area and trying to find a decent group of mature players and field in the area.  Also are there any decent milsim games that are run in the Phoenix area?
