Pipe Dream : Blackhawk Deployment
« on: December 20, 2004, 11:51:00 PM »
This most likely is what the title states, but do you guys think this would be legal and possible? Maybe a bigtime isurance problem?
Or is there a civilian model of a blackhawk (or like it), and how much do you THINK it might cost?

Man who go to sleep with itchy but, wake up with stinky finger.

Having a smoking section in a restaraunt is like having a peeing section in a pool.

Yeah that sounds right cmptrdewd. Around 20 million for just a PLAIN, nothing on it civilian version. Pretty expensive thing for an airsoft game, if you ask me!  :)

But you can always dream... *imagines blackhawk circling airsoft field,  M60's mounted on each side with C magazines...* *drool...* But it would be unsafe... if it ever could happen. You would have to make a rule of no firing at the helicopter or your banned from all events or something serious like that. I don't really know helicopters much but I know enough that BB's being shot at an airborne helicopter would be EXTREMELY dangerous. I know they had a helicopter at some big paintball game a long time ago, but they made a rule of no shooting at the helicopter.

I think the last two posters missed the concept.
I didn't think about buying it, just renting service and hiring a pilot for an hour or so.
Flying around wouldn't do any good in non-urban area patrol, seeing that it, as you said is a safety hazard, however, it'd be cool
I'm thinking maybe $200 to hire a pilot and rent a helicopter for an hour or so just to deploy us into the Op.
Plus a huge deposit.

200 to hire a pilot or 200 to rent a helicopter? Certainly not both..
Anyway, what insurance company is going to cover 10 people riding in YOUR rented helicopter? What happens when someone falls out and dies?

The bbs from an AEG would never reach the helicopter due to the down draft, that is if your bbs could even go up that high.  Also the bbs from the M60s would be ineffective as well being blown downward below the helicopter.

My dad has been flying helicopters for 20 years! I would ask him to fly around a bit if he wasn't heading to Iraq! [smilie=armata_pdt_29.gif]

Hmmm I guess you right. Something as light as a BB going up towards a helicopter/down from it... yeah but it's still something nice to dream about.  :)

Wow. I'm glad I said something. Maybe we could start raising an AA fund for a huge op maybe sometime next year? and have a helicopter deployment. Hopfully someone can find a pilot that will do it for free, and possibly a helicopter that we can rent for a decent price. This would defininatly put AA on the map.

Cmpterdewd, ask your dad for a guess on how much it'd cost to rent a helicopter of that size, I'll ask mine as well tomarrow. Keep in mind only a certain ammount of people could fly in.

Renting a blackhawk alone would cost around $400/hour and getting a pilot could be anywhere from as little as $400/hour up to $1000/hour and you'd be hard pressed to find a pilot for free!
