Assault Rifles Replicas M733 M4s, A-15 or M-16a1s. This is a non bias view of the A-15 and M733 rifles.
After reading several reviews on this subject I have decided on the TM M733. I've found it at a fairly reasonable price.
Although on several sites this gun cost $289 - $389 pack. The lesser price is just for the rifle and one magazines. The extra magazines, battery and charger usually cost extra, sometimes bring the price to $350.00 or more.
This is an excellent replica of the Commando M4Ea2, I think its called, which is a short barrel Close Quarters Combat gun usually in 223 or 9mm. The Tm brand is the standards and is a well detailed. Its an reliable weapon as far as AEG go, TMs really is the standard in Air Soft Combat trials. Now you do have the upscale Classic Army that have metal bodies and semi upgraded gears for faster velocity. It can take other upgrads to do 400 fps.
I bought my M733 for $195 for the rifle and 68 rd magazine by it self, I found that the $338 - $389 packages you can beat. But overall TM is the way to go.
The A15s were purchased and shipped free for $188.00 each it included a charger, battery and hi cap magazine.
I found in reading that this was one of the most discounted weapons or bb guns. DPMS Panther A-15 Rifle comes in a Springer version and the AEG. For now lets just talk about the AEG version, reading and listening to some of the active younger Air Soft Trial players, you could get the impression that this is not a desirable rifle.
All that changed this weekend at a seminar to try to setup Combat trials. We discussed equipment and scenarios that would increase our response time and training tactics.
Here I saw the A-5 and the TMs. Almost every article stated that the A-15 is not a TM AEG but an alternative to this weapon if money is a factor. These article state that A-15'smagazine are not compatible with the TM's M16 clones, though they operate similar. Side by side as mentioned the TM clones have more impressive details fit and form. Where the difference is really seen is in the A-15’s rear sights its not made to specifications, like the real gun. The rear sights of the Tm M4-M1a M16. are, this adds to their splendid details. This is one of my few complaints I have after shooting A15 rifle. The TM Boy, I had read could compare but only cosmetically. Now the XM177 and M733 are better comparisons, superior in details. In saying this I’d like to mention that Tm really have better details then my real AR-15 Bushmaster rifle. Especially near the foresight the bayonet and sling harness on side and under the barrel is a nice touch that the A-15 and AR-15 don’t have. Its obvious that the TMs are copies of the military arms not the AR-15, which is the civilian version.
Firing the A15 was great the semi-auto fire was accurate, and full auto was accurate and a blast. The magazine was easy to load and the battery charged completely in 3-5 hours. Which usually will let you shot a 1000 plus rounds. After setting the gun up with a sling, Red dot scope, mounted flashlight, laser on a Z mount. Painting the Flash suppressor, so that it matched the rest of the gun. These upgrades made a mediocre A-15 a nice looking solid weapon. After firing some 2500 – 3000 rounds the rifle was on its third charge of the battery with no problems. In Semi Mod the first round misfires because I didn't rack the slide, so that’s an user error instead of an equipment problem. With iron sights it was as accurate as TM M4 or anything we had on hand. Of course for faster more accurate shots we had to add a Red Dot sight system this made snaps shots much faster all the M4 rifles were outfitted the same. In looks the TM has an edge, but load them all up and start shooting the A-15 performs just as well as the other rifles. The A-15 seems to be a solid weapon, not as detailed as the TMs but definitely duty worthy for gaming, especially for the Player that’s fighting the war under gunned say with a Glock 18C or M93R, this would defiantly add to your fire power. Since strategy and tactics is 80-90% of what makes you successful a good rifle and adequate supplies can help you at least play the game. There has been skilled player do well with their spring rifles and auto GBB units an A-15 would help them win or fair better.
During this meeting I saw a squad armed mostly with A-15s (and better field tactics) destroy a team of young players, with highly modified TMs and CA weapons, they were held down with suppressed fire and out maneuvering to be pick them off, until the few that were left surrendered.
The TMs are better rifles but they cost more too, so you get what you pay for. But the A-15 by Panther reminds me of the Savage tactical rifle that is a top performer, it shoots as good as the M700 but for the price of the Remington M700 you can outfit the Savage T, so it ready for snipping. Like the A-15 it does not look as good as the TM’s M4s, but it shoots just as well. I’m going to get the TM M733. But I have on loan the A-15 until my gun arrives. And from what I’ve seen the A15 will fill the bill for the scenarios that we have planned.
This rifle has a solid feel to it though its all Plastic, with a Z-scope mount with Red-Dot, Laser, Flash light and pouch for an extra magazines on the metal stock this guns almost weighs as much as the Bushmaster. I can definitely get more practice training in.
The more I shoot this rifle the more I feel like buying one of these too, if I can find one at a real good price. I can save my M733 for limited duty, dresses it out and really make it an applicable tool for play. I wish had a picture of this A-15 its pretty good looking and shooting rifle now, I’m impressed. Like I said I own a real steel Bush Master AR15, its almost as sharp as the Panther now.
