Small question about the uniforms:

If we are going with realism, and not allowing the multicam stuff, how does the Woodland and 3-color Desert fit?  I am not aware of US forces deploying to an AO and having a Woodland/Desert mix; it is always one or the other.

PM sent.

PM replied to.  I will be there.

I loved SERENITY.  Almost better than EPIII:ROTS.

Christian, I printed that pic of you to use as an airsoft target, thank you for that.

My callsign came from "The Crow" movie poster I have on the wall next to my computer.  When I first got into airsoft, back when AirsoftZone was still around (before AA was even formed), I needed a screen name for the Zone website.  I was still very new to the internet and had not thought much about it, so I looked around the room to give me ideas.

And yes, I still have the movie poster and it is still on a wall next to my computer.

In my testing, I have been getting @ 1650 rounds out of it.  I think I should get more, but that may be average for the spring I have in it; I just want a little more info.

AEG's / Tech question: How many rounds per mAh?
« on: August 21, 2005, 06:55:55 PM »
I bought a Star 8.4V 3000mAh Ni-mH battery, and my gearbox is a Classic Army V3 with a PDI 170 spring; on a full, proper charge, how many rounds should I get out of the battery.  I'm talking continuous, full auto, machinegun fire.

I used to be up on all the current springs, batteries, etc; but the amps, discharge rates, and other factors are now lost on me.

One thing you guys may want to consider before bashing our soldiers too much...think about the stress and situation they are in: away from their families, probably for over a year or more, in a combat area where they could lose their life, death and destruction all around, etc.

I am not defending what they did, or the manner in which they did it, but a long deployment in a hostile area can make you do things you would not normally do, make you think in ways you normally never would.  It is easy to judge when you are sitting in front of your computer, watching a video and not actually being there.

I have a Tau army, and have access to my son's Tyranid army.

If you play 40K, let's hear what you got!

  Witch Hunters/Sisters of Battle.

Approximately 6,000 points worth of army, including a number of VDR vehicles.

Did you recently acquire this army?  Sisters of Battle was my first choice, but nobody carried them around here for the longest time.

I only have @ 1200 points, but I am trying to paint everything before I buy more stuff...and that is not very easy to do.

For those of you who are thinking of joining, here is a little background on me:

I am 33 years old, currently in the Air Force, and one of the founding members of Airsoft Arizona.  I have been married for 15 years and have a 9 year old son.

One goal I have always wanted to acheive in airsoft is the formation of a proper MilSim team; ORION will reach that goal.  Showing up once a month to trade some plastic may be fine for some, but others want just a little more.

Look for me, Howrangi or Legs at the next game and see what we are about.  With ORION, service guarantees citizenship! (I've always wanted to say that...)

General Airsoft Discussion / Team ORION is recruiting
« on: August 10, 2005, 09:05:52 PM »
Team ORION is forming up and looking for new members.  If you ever wanted to be a part of a structured team, ORION may be for you.

Here are the basics:

*ACU uniforms are standard issue (tan boots & gloves, OD webgear)

*All ORION members will have G36 based weapons (G36C/K/KE, MG36)

*All weapons will use standard mags with the exception of the MG36

*Each member will have specific roles within the team (Squad Leader,
  Machinegunner, Pointman, etc.)

ORION is looking for dedicated members that want "a little more MilSim" in their airsoft experiences.  You must be over the age of 18 (mid-20+ preferred), have your own transportation, and be willing to accept the responsibilities that come with your position.  Look for ORION members at the AA games and feel free to ask any questions.

Do you have what it takes?  Do you want to do your part?  Do you want to know more?  Email vellsmith@msn.com if interested.

Ah Vell you are KILLING me...  I would SO want to be a part of that...

Scott, despite your traitorous defection to the PRK  :D , you are more than welcome to gear up and play as an honorary ORION member.  In fact, we might could use an ORION detachment behind enemy lines in Kommiefornia...it never hurts to have a freindly squad to hook up with if we ever head that direction.
