CA doesnt really say that its a Version 3.  They just made a some great changes to the internals.  The Biggest one now is if you look at the older rifle the outer cylinder were the ejection port is is now black instead of silver.  You can just order it from anywhere if they have the m24 in stock.  Thats why if you noticed when WGC had the big price reduction on the M24's awhile back that is because they were clearing out the old versions and making room for the new ones.  If your going to order it id order straight from CA them selves just to make sure you dont get an older one fom anoter website that didnt empty out there stock when the new rifle was sent out.

well im glad you brought this topic back to ife.  Actualy tonight was my first minor problem with the rifle.  I was hearing some weird noise like metal moving around inside so i descided to open it up which was very simple.  I just had to remove 2 screws to pull out the entire barrel and trigger assembly at once.  It turns out CA didnt tighten the screws to well so i just put them back in and made sure they were tight.  Even when they were not in there spot the rifle still fired, kinda baffled me how that worked.

I ordered my M24 through Ron like 2 years ago at the time when CA was redisigning the internals, and all i can say is the wait was well worth it.  The hop-up is very easy to adjust and should be done right when you get the gun, before that was done the bb's fell after about 20 feet.  Right now the gun is still stock but is accurate to about 80+or- feet, which is pretty damn good for stock.  Ive got a tasco 3-9x40 mounted with leupold high mount rings, and im gonna order a sunshade in the next week.  Im gonna be playing tomorow hopefuly so i might be able to get some shots of the rifle with my buddy's digital camera for you.

Stock the trigger pull and bolt racking is very easy and takes almost no strength.  Im gonna have ron install a cylinder kit soon with a enw spring and all soon, its just a matter or getting out to the new store.  the only thing now that the gun needs is a camo paint job maybe and a CA m15a4 for hairy situations when extra fire is needed.

In all this rifle is very easy to work with and the manual helps alot for opening it up to a point.  I only pulled it out of the stock to screw the bolt back in, didnt even bother peeking into the rest of the guns insides.

feel free to ask more and ill do my best to answer your questions.

m24 v3 short review
« Reply #7 on: June 13, 2004, 07:04:13 PM »
well about a week ago after a year and a half of waiting i added a new toy to the collection.  The CA m24 v3!  At first sight the gun was a beauty and upgrades will be made soon.  The rifle has a nice weight around 8.5-9 lbs (with scope & bipod).  Differences between the later versions thus far are a new roller pin for the trigger making trigger pull smoother when upgraded.  The ejection port if were real is now black instead of a shinny silver like on the older versions.  The bolt has been reinforced to take more pressure when upgraded which is good because the older ones would break and need to be replaced with the aftermarket Sherrif(sp?) bolt.  Bolt pull is smooth and improved for upgrades making it easier to rack back after each shot.  So far the gun is only stock and will be upgraded with in a week or so.  The hop-up is easily adjustable inside the mag well with a allen wrench. A more indetail review will be put together when upgrades are put in and old internals are looked at.  Pictures to come at a later time.  This is a very nice rifle and i would recomend it to any person looking to build up a marksman/sharpshooter platform.
