Your front sight post should be centered so that the tip of the post is directly in the center of the ghost ring, (rear sight). The tip of the post should be at the 6 o'clock position on your target. If your going for a head shot, then the post should be centered on the head. Pretty simple really.

Thats perfect, thanks. To clear up one more thing though, I would want to line the target up with the whole post, or the tip of the post?

Oh I can hit stuff fine with the AK, just harder to aquire the target with those sights in my opinion. Maybe its just a matter of getting used to it (I've only shot about 1,000 rds. through AKs). I just know that I can pick up some rifles and be at ease immediately with them.

I get email from him and his friends, he's great and very proguns. I want him for a Senator some day.

For John and others; how hard is it to build a FAL? I see lots of kits and stuff to get for it, but is it worth it? Compaired to other semi-auto rifles is it worth it to build this gun? I like the .308 round and I want a semi, but is there something else more accurate/better for the price?

It's not hard if you have the tools to do it. Which I happen to do, but it cost me a couple hundred dollars for all of them. I have the ability to barrel FAL receivers and headspace them which is the hard part of putting any gun kit together.

For those 18 or older, do you own any firearms?
« Reply #82 on: July 30, 2004, 11:11:14 AM »
(This is for those who are 18 or older - if you are under 18, please don't vote!) Obviously, all of us are here are interested in guns/gear/military/etc. My father took me shooting (mostly .22's) when I was younger quite a bit, but I honestly didn't do anything with real guns for over 10 years until Harley invited me to Ben Avery just over a year ago. After that, I was hooked. I didn't become a gun owner until I was 27 years old. It was mostly due to the fact that I just had no desire since I hadn't really done it for so long. I was ambivalent about guns in general. Anyway, just out of curiosity, if you're here and you're over 18, do you own a gun? If not, why?
