An M16 is always an automatic weapon. Any automatic weapon is a machine gun.

Regardless of this whole 'assault rifle' happy horseshit (which is a misnomer really, but, seriously bro, just watch the History Channel or some shit, WW2 Guns or I Don't Know a Fucking Thing About Guns or a program I gueststarred on, Dirty Jobs : Talking To Idiots Online), there's no way there are any M16s for sale at Cabela's, let alone for $800.

Maybe $18,000, but still not Cabela's.

Please, just let this go, you are wrong tonight. Wrong tomorrow. Wrong on Thursday.

Back on topic, Raith's setup is the cheapest, reliable AR15 you're going to find.

Good, fast, cheap, pick two.

I don’t know the correct wording so hopefully vince or raith or mikey can correct me but the term machine gun refers to a rifle that shoots full auto or has burst modes.  Since the M16 has full auto (vn style) but now 3 rnd burst is classified as a machine gun because of the fire modes  Where as an assault rifle is a civilian version of a machine gun, where it has safe and semi.  i.e. an AR-15. not a M16

I might be wrong tho so go easy on me

Too much anti-gun mixed with legal speak mixed with airsoft speak to really determine anything at all...

I honestly don't remember what they had at Cabelas when I was last there.  Depending on the manufacture of said rifle, I suspect that if you were to examine the roll marks, you would find that they say AR-15 rather than M-16.

Transferrable automatic AR15s ("M16s") are different functionally and legally than regular AR15s.  They have an high artificial price point set by 70 years of unconstitutional "law."

When Vince says "M16," he's referring to a transferrable machine gun.  I can surmise that when Up State says "M16," he's merely referring to an AR-15 with a 20" barrel.

I too, would be quite surprised if Cabelas had any transferrable M16s.

Both of you just give up.  Neither of you know what you are talking about.  Just drop it before you embarrass yourselves further.

I was going to mention Ameetec, however at this point I would question the kids ability to assemble it (since that isn't covered in BF2) and once you factor in tax, it still puts him over $700.

Hence the point of this secondary conversation, some don't see too well. But I like how some say things so convincingly as if they were absolutely sure of themselves.  Better read that marking again ;)
I agree, no VN M16 for $800.

Zelot, Raith has your answer. Now it's time to look at accessories that cost more than the gun

The cheapest I have seen a AR-15 by a dealer was 635$ pre-tax and those were Bushmaster/Olympic Arms. The gun store near me sells guns at pretty good prices from what I've seen online. He gets alot of Consignment as well. Only time I'd ever seen a real G3, granted it was 3500$. I don't think he knew he had it since it was on a floor gun rack.

As for the thread sh**ting.  An education and common sense go along way, http://world.guns.ru/main-e.htm. By you definitions SMGs don't count ether.

bet not. my dad was in the infantry and he said that m16 are assault weapon class. he would know as he was a machine gunner. he used the m249.

He should've told you about traps, like punji sticks or whatever Vince is setting you up for.

Upstate,

To break it down barney...... an M16A1, M16A2, M16A3, M16A4, CAR15, M4 and anything else that looks like an "M16 or M4" in a 223/5.56 with either a 3 round burst or full auto selector switch is not sold to common civilians, let alone at some sporting goods store.

Hence all the harrasment, AR-15's are the civilian model of the 223/5.56 mm "M16/M4"

It is possible for you to buy an M16 but its incredibly expensive, not to mention you don't really own it, the federal government does and you just paid for permission to hold on to it, and occasionally burn though boxes of ammo.

If you wanna shoot full auto one weekend a month gimme a call bro, I'll even pay you for it!  :D
