Yeah, Wiley XL-1, Wiley SG-1, & Hatch BOSS goggles.  All are low profile, all are known for their fogging.  In the slightly larger, but still small in comparison to other goggles are the ESS NVG goggles and Bolle T-800 goggles.

Those are ugly and more importantly, FOGGY!  Clear lenses are best for all-light conditions.

The ESS Profile NVG and Bolle T800 that Raith mentioned are the best choices.  Theu will run you about 55 shipped for the Bolle, and about 65-75 shipped for the ESS.  Note that the Bolles are easier to clean, but don't offer dust protection (like you would ever need that feature in airsoft).

I have T800s, have used them MANY MANY times, and love them.  They leave nice lines on your face.

hey guys, I was thinking about your choices, but i have a question. When i see people playing airsoft, they mostly just have regular sunglasses on, is this correct?

Actually, most are wearing goggles. There are a few that are wearing some sort of shooting glasses. But MOST of us wear goggles.

You can't go wrong with the Bolle T800's. I love them. Well I don't "love" them.....you get the picture. They are comfy, small, light weight, the lenses are a snap to change out/clean, and the best part is....no foam to soak up the sweat, just a nice rubber seal.

Which also contributes to the ease of cleaning.  They barely ever fog (much less than any other eye protetion, except for the ESS TurboCams), and are fantastic!  Try to find an airsofter that doesn't love them!

if your looking for a cheap option, many snowboarding goggles can withstand a bb going 500 fps. Mine, (oakley) are very durable and comfortable, one downside is they have foam which can get moist, and lead to fogging, but anti fog spray works fine for me.

Just for your info Snowboarding goggles are not built to the same ratings as tactical or paintball goggles.....I wouldn't trust my eyesight to them. If you can't afford "proper" eye protection you'd prolly be better off not playing.

Unless Oakley has changed, ALL Oakley products are built to exceed ANSI Z87.1.  That rating is the absolute minimum I'd trust my eyes to, as most of the true "Tactical" goggles (like ESS) are built to a higher safety standard (beyond the ANSI Z87.1 rating).

Last time I looked at the Oakley website, everything they make meets or exceeds the ANSI rating

Many of the older Oakley ski and snowboard goggles are NOT ANSI Z87.1 rated.  When in doubt about a certain piece of eye protections rating, get one that you can be sure on.

Are your standard type shooting eye glasses ANSI rated?  Im talking about the wrap around yellow jobs that you get for 20 bucks so you dont take powder or a spent case in the eye.

Quick question on the subject of eye protection.  From the AA pics, it looks like most folks just wear goggles and no other facial protection (ala paintball).  Having been shot in an area of the face where my mask didn't cover in paintball, I know that is not fun.  Is it less painful in airsoft and then just not worth worrying about?

Thanks.
