I tried glasses under my T800's. It doesn't work too well. The Rx inserts are the way, for sure, but they fog up, so beware. I now use contact lenses when I airsoft. Much less fogging!

I have some JT (I think) painball goggles that are a bit larger, and more comfortable to use glasses under, but you still run into the severe fogging issue, and they are larger, so boonies dont fit down on my head as well as I'd like.

heavy astigmatism.  contacts are a no go.
i was thinking though, i've been thinking about getting sports goggles for a while anyways, those would probably fit under goggles better.

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">That will depend on the goggle. I'd stick w/ a T800 and get the perscription insert, since contacts are a no-go. Remember that anything that makes a tight seal around your eyes is going to fog up (usually).

heh, tell me about it.  im a chem student.  have had LOTS of experience with lab goggles and fogging.  built my own ungogging goggles about 3 years ago from a small computer fan and a battery.  looked ugly, but it worked.  of course, the sports glasses will now have to wait.  got the news at the dentist friday.  root canal....  ugh.

I don't know about you guys but I am an ex paintballer. I am now trying to get as far away from anything paintball as I can to the point where I dont even use a GBB. I have a springer instead because I don't want to fool around with gas. Well anyways...my JT Paintball Mask has of course goggles in them. I pulled the Goggles out of the mask and cut the back sides of the mask to get the straps off. They are already impact rated and I didnt have to spend anymore money on eye protection, For all you ex paintballers out there who still have your mask but only want goggles, do what I did. It works well!

Also, has anybody ordered from WGC.com and used any other shipping than the EXPRESS (rip-off)? The ground shipping estimates 1-2 months. What the hell, they are based out of Ohio! PM me back

I don't see anything at WGC.com... If you're talking about Wargame Club, they're in Hong Kong, not Ohio.  I don't think express shipping is a rip off.  Most of those places will only ship guns express, so that the package is insured. AFAIK, anyways.

I have a goggles question and figured I'd put it here rather than start a new post altogether. I found a website that I was going to buy from and noticed they sold goggles, so I took a look and found some relatively cheap. Since I was getting a Camelbak from the same site I figured I'd try em. I got the package today and the box says "This product meets the applicable performance requirements of ANSI Z87.1-1989 and CSA Z94.3-1992, high impact protector." But it also says on the inside where all the warnings are "Do not use this eyewear for paintball or simulated war activities." I don't want to mess around, but they are sealed goggles and the only way a BB could get past the plastic of the lenses is if it richochets off of my cheeks, and even then it would be hard. At the very least want to know if somebody knows why I'm not supposed to use them (just plain curiosity), or if I can anyway and why.

If it matters they are Uvex Stealth High Impact Protector safety goggles.

I'd say they are OK.  They are sealed, and my guess is that the warning is a CYA measure so they don't get sued.  After all, they aren't made for airsoft or tactical uises, so they could fail in certain conditions.  If they are ANSI rated, they can withstand the hit.  The question is will the frames take it.  Part of the ANSI certification regards the frame integrity, so you should be ok.  I wear shooting glasses sometimes, and have taken several direct hits to the lens without a problem.

Take good care of them, and inspect them often for failures, and you should be ok.

Then I'd save up some cash for a pair of ESS Profile NVG's or Bolle T800s.

Ok, that's what I thought, and there really isn't much for frames. There is a nice rubber seal and the lenses cover it all, only thing not covered by them is the strap, which is some decent strength rubber, which I'm thinking of replacing with some good quality velcro anyway. Once I get the money saved up I'm definatly getting some higher grade goggles, but wanted something that'll work for now.

Eye Protection
« Reply #43 on: January 28, 2004, 10:26:25 AM »
HEllo Again all, I have all my equpiment set out and the last thing i need to buy is some eye protection cuz i dont want to go blind. I don't want anything big like a full paintball mask, cuz then i could barely move around. I am looking for the smallest, but still the most protective things I could get. Plz post reply with price if you would be so kind.
