<br />I have a goggles question and figured I'd put it here rather than start a new post altogether. I found a website that I was going to buy from and noticed they sold goggles, so I took a look and found some relatively cheap. Since I was getting a Camelbak from the same site I figured I'd try em. I got the package today and the box says "This product meets the applicable performance requirements of ANSI Z87.1-1989 and CSA Z94.3-1992, high impact protector." But it also says on the inside where all the warnings are "Do not use this eyewear for paintball or simulated war activities." I don't want to mess around, but they are sealed goggles and the only way a BB could get past the plastic of the lenses is if it richochets off of my cheeks, and even then it would be hard. At the very least want to know if somebody knows why I'm not supposed to use them (just plain curiosity), or if I can anyway and why.
If it matters they are Uvex Stealth High Impact Protector safety goggles.

I'd say they are OK. They are sealed, and my guess is that the warning is a CYA measure so they don't get sued. After all, they aren't made for airsoft or tactical uises, so they could fail in certain conditions. If they are ANSI rated, they can withstand the hit. The question is will the frames take it. Part of the ANSI certification regards the frame integrity, so you should be ok. I wear shooting glasses sometimes, and have taken several direct hits to the lens without a problem.
Take good care of them, and inspect them often for failures, and you should be ok.
Then I'd save up some cash for a pair of ESS Profile NVG's or Bolle T800s.
