Granted I have never served but I know what you mean. I did civil air patrol for 9.5 years. And I met miltary of all stages.  The thing that pissed me off was the end of my stay in cap. I spent 9 years working through the ranks and ended with my spaatz award (cadet LTC) a respectable position being that a col. Was the last step.

I remeber this 15 year old home school kid showing up in bdu's on a blues night with a replica medal of honor. A SF patch, master jump wings, and wearing an old school green beret. I jumped down this kids throat so bad he started crying. He took it to my commanding officer who was a vietnam vet (puf the magic dragon pilot) and he jumped down his throat.

The beret, the patch, the wing I could let slide but there was no was in hell I was letting the MoH slide by

Lol JrROTC is a joke. "Let's play pretend soilder"

I totally agree, I went to a high school once when I was home on leave to help out my recruiter and one of the classes we went to was a JROTC class. I saw so many of those little S!!!s wearing CIBs/CABs/jump wings/SF and ranger tabs, rank, and unit patches I wanted to punch someone. I asked the E5 that was there how he could let them walk around wearing that stuff and he just said as long as they didn't wear it on "uniform day" he couldn’t do anything about it. I saw this kid wearing a 1stCav patch an infantry cord and a CIB, it took all the inner strength I had not to choke the crap out of him. Granted I was on my first leave after my first deployment so I generally got angry fairly quickly.

Why is it that these JROTC little kids is think they know what it’s like over there and try and talk to you, or interrupt a conversation, and talk like they were there with you. Movies and video games, no matter how "realistic" they are, don't show what it is really like. I hated getting replacements in Iraq that would break down in the middle of a fire fight and someone would have to pick up their slack because they joined the military thinking going to war was going to be "cool". ITS NOT! It is just one of those things that piss me off. Maybe a little too much, I seem to overact to things lately.

I’m done with my rant …..Sorry for the outburst

Believe me ICEMAN, I'd like to command the OLA, but I also want to get some good action too!!!!

Because I don't surrender, I don't want to chance my team losing major points.....

Of course, I just won't get captured!!

We still have almost 2 months left til game time and we already have 40 signed up, not counting the Steelworks group. This is looking like another good one. Also, we are working on getting some light towers out on the field for this one.
