Gas Powered Guns / STTI USP Opinions?
« on: August 22, 2004, 08:33:24 PM »
Hey I have come across a chance to buy an STTI USP metal slide, with 1 thigh, and 2 hip holsters! Well anyways my main question is I have never really heard of STTI and wanted any feedback on this Brand. Here's one that I found from someone we all know and love [;)]

Any Taiwanese guns will for that matter. (will take green gas) KJW, STTi, KWA, etc. Not as nice in the fit and finish dept, but very skirmish-worthy, and Green gas ability is a plus!

Alot of guys buy nice Japanese guns, and never use them in games since they aren't as burly, and sometimes not as powerful.

Think of Taiwanese guns as AKs (durable, reliable, not as accurate, cheaper, more powerful), and Japanese guns as M16s (Accurate, nicely made, tighter tolerances, not as powerful sometimes, easily fouled, more expensive, etc). Not the best analogy, as there are many exceptions, but it's a good guide. I also know of a few guys who skirmish with Japanese GBBs and do great with them.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Freeway Rage
« on: May 02, 2004, 02:35:55 PM »
I just had quite an experience last night on my way home on the I-10. It was about 1:30 am and I was in the HOV lane doing the speed limit of 65mph. I then noticed someone behind me flashing their high-beams on and off. My First thought was "ok heres a speeder who wants me to move off into one of the 3 open lanes next to me, instead of him having to move over." So I stayed my ground, since I was going the speed limit and I had a long ways to go to my exit ramp. He then proceeded to close in on me even more to about 2.5 car lengths, continuing to flash his high beams at me. Since I couldnt see anything in the lanes next to me due to the high beam flashing, I gave him a warning to back off by tapping on my breaks once dropping 2-3 mph. He then proceeds to accelerate around to be next to me. When I look over hes waving his hands in a motion to pull over and has some kind of police looking insignia on his left shoulder. Hes driving some kind of small foreign suv, looks like his personal vehicle. Then he gets behind me again, right on my bumper this time. So, pull over on the freeway in a safe spot. He comes up to my window and tells me to show my hands and I do, putting them out of the window. Then he asks me If I have a problem. I said "no I dont have a problem." He then tells me that I was in the fast lane and that I was going under the speed limit. I responded, "No, I was going the speed limit." Then in response he says and tapping my breaks to cause an accident was illegal too. I said, I was not trying to cause an accident, I saw someone flashing their high-beams behind me like crazy and..." Have you been drinking? he asks. I look him straight in the eye and say "No." and after 3 seconds he says Ok have a good night.

Now I cant remeber if he had a badge or a gun or not, becuase he was in that normal protective position beside the car and the window when talking to me. I had to turn my head around as far left to see him at all. He got back to his vehicle and I could not see incoming traffic with the position of his vehicle. So I was waiting for him to leave first, which is what all (or the officers that I have met) do. But he wouldnt leave and it became clear he wouldnt leave until I left. So I had to reposition my car close to the HOV lane and wait for a really good clearing when I could clearly see that the HOV lane was clear. Finally after 3 mins it was clear and I got back on the freeway and moved over several lanes to the right going the speed limit once again. The guy got on the same time in the HOV lane, and never once passed me. He made sure to stay back 6-7 car lenghts. I just ignored him from that point and continued home.

Any responses? I felt that this officer, cause I believed that he was at the time but now Im not exactly sure if he was or just a security guard, was on a power trip. And looking back tapping on my brakes a bit was not the best thing to do even though I only slowed a few mph. I'd like to hear your genuine responses. Not responses like yeah he was a pig, from ankle bitters, ok. Thanks.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / BT 13th Armored Truck/ Response
« on: December 13, 2003, 07:33:02 PM »
I really enjoyed using the truck with, improvised sidings on the bed made of card board. We cut gun slits in the card board and put 3 or 4 guys in the back of Jay's truck and made it like a Halftrack. The card board could be penetrated on the weaker sections depending on gun power and distance. The rear section was double layered and was impervious. This made for some interesting and fun games.

I was the only one to get out of the truck bed to go for the objective and But I ran out of ammo and had to re-arm real quick. As you can imagine the truck was a bb magnite. Then the driver Jay, drove up to the objective and hopped out real fast and got it. And I didnt enjoy the fact that once they got the objective The guys in the bed of the truck were asking where the heck was Mad Sarge and the response from Christian was "Forget Him! Lets get the Hell out of here! Drive! Drive!" [;)] I had to chase after my ride needless to say, [:P] Haha, I had a lot of fun, it was great.

General Airsoft Discussion / Red Tip Issue
« on: September 15, 2003, 09:26:29 AM »
If your going to ship an AEG through UPS or USPS do you need to have the tip painted red or orange. What I mean is, is it the law to do so. I wouldnt want any problems, I say it would be just safe to paint it anyways. Do you know if USPS will ship replica guns?

General Airsoft Discussion / BT 13Th DEBRIEFING
« on: September 13, 2003, 06:38:50 PM »
This post is for anyone who played at BT this SAT 13th or for those who were MIA and wish to send their condolences.

Well We actually had less guys this time than with our standard group. But the games were still fun since we were forced to find a new smaller combat area due to so many campers. So since we only had 8 guys the smaller area made up for it. We had alot of gun fights. Its not like we couldnt find a bigger area but why when you only got 8 guys. It was nice to see new faces again at BT. I see 3 or 4 new people each time I go out to BT. I just get excited at the possiblities if we could ever get a game at BT when all the new faces come at the same time [:P]

Ok Im gona get It now I put this post in the section above the one I wanted I wanted Airsoft games! [|)]

The only thing that a "silencer" has any real noticable effect on is NBB pistols. It will dampen the report but you will still have some noise. NBB because you dont have the noise of the slide and all the gas is pushed out through the barrel along with the noise.

What do you mean? It clearly states that they were too late for him. At least some of them cant hurt anyone else, but some escaped. I hope they live the rest of their lives being hunted and living in a hole like Saddam!
