Local Games Listing/RSVP / Re: Synkardis - Tax Revolt 5

The same outfit could be applicable to a Politician-Spokesman and Bodyguards of the Tax Rebels, or the Bank President ... hope to see you this weekend !

Tax Revolt will feature Special Missions for players with pistols and grenade launchers.

I appreciate and generally agree with your experience, the difference here is that players won't be asked to limp or hop because their leg was hit, or switch from right to left to shoot their guns - any hit is a hit, just that basic medics can't fix the head/torso "vitals" ... the key idea is to spice up the game with the need to get the medics racing to wounded players and the potential to overrun and capture an enemy player. Lone wolf snipers may want to adjust their plans, etc.

Extract from my Dreadnought site -

Please note - We recommend bio-degradable BB's for the great outdoors, and hence recommend against mesh-type goggles because such pellets tend to fragment and pieces still fly through

1) most pistols will have the bare minimum 10 foot safety distance - but gas powered pistols or any pistol using heavier than .20g will have a 20 foot safety-distance

2) guns 350 FPS and under with .20g at chrono (i.e. most stock models) will have a safety-distance [minimum engagement distance] of 20 feet.

3) upgraded guns/assault rifles shooting a max 420 FPS with .20g at the chrono,
playing with .30g pellets at the heaviest, safety-distance of 30 feet.

4) sniper rifles (no automatic fire please) up to 550 FPS with .20g at the chrono, or any weapon playing with pellets over .30g (to .40g at the most)
safety-distance of 60 feet
(so bring a sidearm and use it for CQB).

5) grenade-launchers loaded with .12g have a safety-distance 20 feet,
and with .20g need 30 feet minimum - we recommend using foam 'rockets' which we count as having a 15 foot lethal radius where they hit the ground.

6) cap-guns may be used at 10 feet or less; with a clear line-of-sight, two successful 'detonations' in rapid succession are required to score a hit (and that counts as "vitals").

7) NERF swords, etc. approved by the referees, may be used with caution, do not strike at a players head or neck. NERFs may hit "limb" or "vitals". (please no Rubber Knives, nothing too realistic)

Don't make unnecessary head shots, NEVER shoot for the head under 30 feet.

Don't hose somebody with 10 shots when one, two or three will do the job.

Referees can remove players for excessive shooting.

NO blind firing. You must be able to see your target with your own eyes, down the barrel of your weapon, anything else is unsafe.

For general play one hit anywhere on the body, including all worn gear, and a player is out - temporarily - if hit loudly announce so - hit players should lower their guns, deploy their Dead Rag and sit, lay or crouch in place while calling for a Medic.

Medics have 3 minutes to reach a "wounded" player. Hit players should track their own time and announce to their team mates how much time they have left, colorfully, make some noise, play the part !

Do not shoot these "wounded" players, but beware, accidents may occur as Medics in attendance are fair game.

Basic Medics can "heal" only limb hits (as the game progresses Medics may gain the "skill" to heal "vitals"), this takes 30 seconds for the Medic with a hand on the Wounded player.
Wounded players may be moved by non-Medics, when two other players each place a hand on the shoulders or arm of the Wounded - this threesome my move at a slow walk.
Wounded players can also be "Captured" by this method (two players to move a wounded opponent), generally the Wounded may not resist (except by cap gun, or grenade), Captives may be moved at a brisk walk.

Captives can be generally held for no more than 30 minutes, but Enemy Leaders may be held up to 60 minutes unless otherwise specified.

Sorry, is there a cross-platform problem ?
The link is to my Dreadnought site, the tab for player info covers the FPS stuff and basic points about medics, respawn, etc.

I have not yet had any particular team step up to assume generalship of either side, a couple of local teams are "in flux" at the moment.
Basically for uniforms it ought to be SWAT black or ACU for the Gov't forces, and older style BDU and "civvies" for the Resistance but we'll supplement with arm band tape.

As to the storyline, there will be definitely a place for springers and other "soft-air" type guns, as the Rebels "have to start somewhere" (before a Mission to hook up with gun-runners...)
Some shields will be allowed for the Gov't side.

Local Games Listing/RSVP / Prescott area game - Tax Revolt 5
« on: April 25, 2012, 04:46:08 PM »
For 2012 Tax Revolt will be fought, with airsoft, on Saturday May 5.
Check-in, sign waivers, chrono, teams set and rules reviewed 9:30-11:00 AM - then Game On until 6 PM.
This year we're on private land, $5 suggested donation to our host.
Essentially on the outskirts of Prescott ... 509 S. Overland Road, between Butterfield Rd. and Santa Fe Loop.
Several good food places only minutes away.

Revenue Enforcers/The Feds vs. Tax Resisters, playing on over 30 acres of well covered terrain - a dozen re-spawn bases.
Props and Missions.
We're striving for non-stop action, battles with patriots on every side "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for." Will Rogers said to our grandparents and now in the 21st Century Leon Panetta (who's risen from Congressman to Secretary of Defense) has proclaimed "If we don't do something to simplify the tax system, we're going to end up with a national police force of Internal Revenue Agents."

(also playing it as paintball the next day)

Dreadnought Adventures recommends using biodegradable bb's and supports safe and reasonable weight/FPS limits - for outdoors game this is as follows ...
(chronographing requires each player produce an empty mag for the referee who will provide standard .20g ammo)

4) sniper rifles (no automatic fire please) up to 550 FPS with .20g at the chrono,
or any weapon playing with pellets over .30g (to .40g at the most)
safety-distance of 60 feet
(so bring a sidearm and use it for CQB).

5) grenade-launchers loaded with .12g have a safety-distance 20 feet,
and with .20g need 30 feet minimum - we recommend using foam 'rockets' which we count as having a 15 foot lethal radius where they hit the ground.

Local Games Listing/RSVP / Central AZ game ... Outbreak 2011
« on: November 23, 2011, 10:24:17 PM »
Chapter 2 of Outbreak is fast approaching

Saturday Nov. 26

http://dreadnought-adventures.webnode.com/

25
Next game is looking to be on November 26.

There's a special event for Halloween
http://tacticalairsoftguns.com/the_dead_will_rise_2011

then I'll run my next event in November ... the unleashed bio-weapon goes global !

26
It was good enough although honestly they kind of dribbled in and out, some guys got off work around noon, some had to leave in the early afternoon, etc. - it made having a true scenario event hard. All total about 20 players, and 3 neutral role-players (the smuggler and his bodyguard). I ended up too busy trying to keep things on track that taking pictures fell by the wayside - we had a miscommunication and one team took off almost half a mile down the road ... overall the game concept seemed sound but as producer my execution was flawed (it would have helped to have a dedicated referee too) ... the day also turned out to be fiendishly hot, several guys needed a pause.

27
Are you still taking recruits ?
What's entailed with sponsorship - please PM me !

28
The time will be Saturday September 3, players should arrive about 0900-0930 so we have time to chrono and cover the special rules, game on at 1030
Directions at  http://dreadnought-adventures.webnode.com/when-and-where/

29
Dreadnought Adventures has the scenario for Exordium "in the bag" but several factors including weather have intervened, we've rescheduled the battle for "Wadi al-Ubari" to Saturday September 3rd, the week after we return from Operation Broken Arrow (in New Mexico.)

and the Outbreak is coming in October November 26th

Teams taking on the role of Gaddafi loyalists should plan on wearing camo in desert/tan/coyote, black, or any African army/merc type pattern while NATO forces can use American and NATO patterns (greens and grays preferably).

Dreadnought Adventures recommends using biodegradable bb's and supports safe and reasonable weight/FPS limits -

guns 350 FPS and under with .2g (i.e. most stock models) safety-distance [minimum engagement distance] of 20 feet
and SMG's should use pellets .23g or under, these fast-full auto firing guns have a safety-distance of 25 feet

upgraded/assault rifles (considering the effect of full auto)  max 420 FPS with .2g , .3g pellets at the most , safety-distance of 30 feet

sniper rifles (no auto-fire) 560 FPS with .2g , .4g pellets at the most , safety-distance of 60 feet (bring a sidearm and use it for CQB)

Grenade-launchers with .12g safety-distance 20 feet , and .2g need 30 feet minimum - we recommend using foam 'rockets' which we count as having a 15 foot lethal radius.
