Informational Links / An Airsoft Blog
« on: August 27, 2009, 02:31:50 PM »
Hey guys

So I joined the forums a while back and getting to read all the airsoft stuff has been great, however I wanted more.  I started searching around for an airsoft blog that I could keep up to date with and read about the latest and greatest.  Turns out there isn't a whole lot of airsoft blogs out there on the internet  :x .  Having some experience blogging and since, heck I airsoft a lot, I decided to make my own.

Anyways I decided I'd just throw the link up and you are all welcome to comment, harass, or whatever you'd like to do.  Thanks.

Yeah I'm planning on playing with the whales.... Ha that made me chuckle.  I read it's used in urban environments.  Honestly I just think it looks cool and I don't mind if my gun sticks out.

Also that kid makes me sad... very sad.

General Airsoft Discussion / Re: Indor airsoft arena
« on: August 02, 2009, 08:19:58 PM »
I would love to see more airsoft arenas here in the valley.  However I think there are definitely some things to think about:

Location:

This is purely a business decision.  Wal-Mart spends billions of dollars every year just doing research on demographics and figuring the placement of new stores.  It's my personal opinion that with an airsoft arena you're going to need a cater to your surrounding area.  Some people will drive an hour to get there, but most of your return business will be from locals.

While airsoft isn't the the #1 sport of airzona this forum is a testament that it IS of interest here.  Also seeing other arenas in the county helps because they're advertising the sport in your area and getting the word out.  (Also it's nice to see that they aren't going out of business.)

Price:

This is the one complaint I have with CQB.  Most people who are interested in airsoft really enjoy airsofting... often.  Stupid comment to have to make but it's true.  If you offer a membership program in congruence with a one-time-fee program I think you could really clean up.  It's easier to pay the bills when you know for a 100% fact that money will be rolling in at the beginning of the month.

I think offering a membership plan (ex. $30 / month) could also dramatically improve refreshment sales.  If you have hardcore airsofters showing up everyday instead of just once a month they are going to be buying a lot more food and drink.

Insurance:

Honestly I thought insurance companies didn't offer insurance for airsoft fields.  I know with the popularity of paintball it's become possible but I thought airsoft hadn't been addressed yet.  Something to think about anyways.

Hey I tried to search through some of the older forum posts keyword "paint" but it's just too common a word.  "Camo" just brings up a lot of gear.  So I figured I'd just ask.  I'm planning on buying an MP5 from Gearbox later this week and I really would like to have a custom paint job.  Not just any paint job but rather the Blue Tiger Camo that can be found on the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Do you guys know of anyone who specializes in this type of thing?  If I'm left doing it myself is there anything I need to know before I start spraying a brand new gun with paint?  Advice / Suggestions / Rants would be appreciated.

Hello to everyone.  Newb post here. My name is Austin and I've been airsofting for about 3 - 4 years.  I started when I lived in Mesa with some spring pistols and now that I live out in Queen Creek I'm starting to use some electric guns.  I'm 18 and maybe you even saw me in Gearbox yesterday helping my brother to buy his first AEG.  Anyways look forward to seeing a few of you guys at CQB and maybe even an event or two.

Also I wanted to apologize to whomever we paid in quarters.  I felt bad about that.... not bad enough to lose 10% at a Coinstar machine, but still.  :D
