Shooting Ranges in the Phoenix general area
« on: March 18, 2008, 03:08:56 PM »
Being new to the area and wanting to get a rifle (pistols and so on and so forth after I get acquainted with the area/shootingin general), I was wondering where some decent shooting ranges could be found in the Maricopa county area.  I am currently located in Tempe, but I am more than willing to travel a reasonable distance to find a nice facility.

Also, other than the giant Cabela's, I am looking where to buy said  desired rifle.  I am quite sure that there are some quality stores in the area that are clean cut and knowledgeable.

Thanks in advance and if this has all been said and done before I apologize and after proper direction this can be closed.  Sorry for all the new guyishness.

Go join the Rio Salado Sportsmans' Club and you can shoot at the Usery Pass Shooting Range at US60 and Ellsworth.

It is a few minutes north of the 60, near Usery Mountain.

There is also a range off of the 60 around Mesa Dr. I believe.

Ben Avery is my favorite range around Phoenix. It might end up being a haul from Tempe though.

I can vouch for Ben Avery. Solid safety measures, friendly place, cheap vending machines.

*edit- This thread is old.
